Good evening
Please check with the Coos Oregon Gen. Soc. A number of years ago they printed a very nice article on descendants of Jonathan Clinton who was from the Carolinas. His family left there and went to MO, and from there they went to OR. This family may be the one you are looking for.
Good luck in your search
Joanne

I am trying to find information on my Great Aunt. Her maiden name was Florence Helkenberg and she was born about 1876 in Missouri. Members of my family say she left Missouri around 1900 and moved to Klamoth Oregon where she married a man whose last name was Clinton. I have not been able to find her in any census records after 1880. She had 3 brothers, William, David and John Fredrick and one sister whose name was Nettie Mae. In the 1880 Census she was listed as Trudie F so her first name could have been Trudie or even Gertrude. Does any of this information sound familiar to anyone.
Thank You.

My great grandmother Mary Clinton was born in Ireland in the mid 1800's. Her parents were Patrick Clinton and Catherine Fitzsimmons. Would like to know which county she came from in Ireland and names of any siblings. I assume her parents stayed in Ireland but Mary did arrive in NYC and married Michael Losty there early in 1874.

I am hoping to locate descendants of the siblings of my ggGrandfather John CLINTON. The information I have on the family comes predominantly from the 1851 census of England, when they lived at Bexhill Sussex.
Henry CLINTON, born 1804 at Mornington, Co. Meath Ireland.
His wife Margaret (nee HINCHEY) born in Clooney, Co. Clare. Ireland 1805.
Richard CLINTON, born 1837 in Poole Dorset
John CLINTON, my direct ancestor, born 1840 at Ryde, Isle of Wight
William CLINTON, born 1843 at Breumore (sp?), Co. Galway Ireland.
James CLINTON, born 1844 at Rye, Sussex.
Margaret CLINTON born 1838 at Ryde, Isle of Wight.
Mary CLINTON, born 1848 at Rye, Sussex.
During the 1851 census Henry and his family lived at Martello Tower 55 near Bexhill, Sussex. The tower still stands, and was sold in 2005 to be converted to a residence. My ancestor, John CLINTON, became a seaman and sailied to Canada in 1868 aboard the vessel Pilgrim. He became a master mariner and served as captain or first mate of various vessels in Newfoundland Canada. He married Bridget Brien and the couple had four children who survived to adulthood, including a son named Henry after John's father.
I am anxious to connect with descendants of Henry and Margaret's other children. I have some information to share and I'm seeking more information about Henry's place of birth in Ireland.

Clinton, Agnes Mary D.
CLINTON-Agnes Mary D. Clinton, (71), passed away to a new adventure with God. She died in surgery unexpectedly on the 26th of June at 9:00 am. In the last ten years she had been experiencing serious health challenges. Her spirit is now free to live without pain. She has left behind 7 brothers, as well as, Charles H. Clinton her loving and devoted husband for 55 years and Therese M. Clinton her daughter and only child. She loved flowers and playing the organ and going to the horse races. She could be abrupt and difficult but if you got to know her you'd find she was a lamb. She was smart, worked in retail and took care of the family. She will be missed and thought of by everyone she touched. Services will be held at Holy Family Church in South Pasadena at 9:30 am, July 3rd. Her final resting place will be Resurrection Cemetery.
