Good evening
James Clinton was listed in the 1790 census for Lincoln Co. NC with the following count: 2 males over 21, 1 male under 21, and 2 females.
In 1800 Jms Clinton was listed in Lincoln Co. with a head count of: 1, 1, 0, 1, 0 // 3, 1, 0, 1, 0 // 0, 0
James is gone by 1810. Where did he go?? Was he a desc. of Archibald who died in Chester Co. PA 1746? Anyone on the list working on this James?
John Clinton md. Eliza McDowgal/McDougal on May 25, 1799 in Woodford Co. KY
There was an Eliza Clinton who married Silas Eaton in Woodford Co. KY on 28
Dec 1820. No proven connection to the Eliz'a of this record.
I believe this is Elizabeth Fauquier, the dau of Robert Fauquier whose will
is dated Fb 23, 1802 in Scott Co. Wills and Estates 195-1822: Will book A, pge
140, recorded Sept. 1802. Named were daus: Elizabeth Clinton, Jane
McCumphrey, Mary Nickson, grandsons John McCumphrey, Robert McComphrey, James Barclay
and Mathew Barclay, granddaus Mary McDougal, Sarah McDougal, and Ann McDougal,.
Son James Fauquier, grand dau Mary Emeson, grand dau Ann Barclay, Daughter
Agnes Scott, grand dau Rosanah Atchison, grandson Robert McDougal, Witnesses:
Thomas McRehimy, John Emison, William Deely or Duly.
Later, Elizabeth's mother died and named Elizabeth in her will.
At the 1820 census for Woodford Co. I find a John Clinton with
1 male 16-18
1 male 16-26
1 male 45 and up
1 female under 1
1 femle to 30,
1 female to 45
I am interested in the male age 16-26 because he would have been born between
1794 and 1804. Does anyone know if this male was John Clinton's son, or if
he was one of the sons of Eliza McDowgal/McDougal??
Thanks
Joanne

Since Eliza had the three daus by her first husband, I wonder if this could also have been a second marriage for John Clinton. If so, whom did he marry and did he have children?
Thanks
