Sorry. I have no idea where in Ireland, only know that the census records in MA show the family was all born in Ireland, except my great-grandfather, who was born in Roxbury in Dec. 1856. If I learn more, I'd be happy to share it with you. Thanks for your inquiry.

Was directed to the LDS site showing where Loch Clinton and Permelia Collins were married. Still desire info on Loch Clinton and or Permelia Collins. Nothing found on Loch when he left Missouri until he married Permelia, nor after he left Permelia according to the 1900 AR Census.
Also, no info on their oldest daughter's marriage or whereabouts after 1900 AR Census. Who'd she marry, where did her mother go, where'd she go herself after marriage if she did marry?

Looking for help with my brick wall. My gg-grandfather was Calvin Clinton. He was born in Tennessee, most likely in Sevier County. His birth date was June 1835 (census data). He was first married to Mary Connatser, daughter of Henry and Delilah Allen Connatser, and they had my grandfather James Parker Clinton in Feb. 1857. Mary died and Calvin married Mary Ann Jenkins Bodine in Sept. 1859. They had 8 children: Ellen Clinton Helton, Marion Winfield Clinton, George Washington Clinton, Sarah "Sallie" Clinton Helton Atchley, Margaret Clinton Lowe, Mary "Mollie" Clinton Holbert, John Clinton and Elvin Clinton. There were 2 other Calvin Clinton's so it is sometimes easy to confuse them.
I believe that Calvin was one of at least 4 children born to the John Clinton who was in Sevier County, TN in 1830 and Blount County, TN in 1840 (age may have been wrong in 1840). I have identified the other children as William M. Clinton (born about 1827), Elizabeth J. Clinton Etherton (born maybe 1828-29), and Dorothy Jane "Dollie" Clinton Lafollette (born about 1832). I think John was born between 1800-1810. Census data from the four Clinton's indicate that their father was born in Tennessee, not sure what county.
The 1830 Sevier Census also included a William Clinton, not sure of the relationship but could have been the father or brother of John. Since the names "William" and "John" were alternated in this family I believe William was most likely the father but have no proof. William and his family disappeared from Sevier County after the 1837 tax list was compiled and I do not know where they went.
So, if I am guessing correctly, John was Calvin's father and according to census data he was born in Tennessee, therefore these Clinton's must have already been in the U.S. prior to John's birth in 1800-1810. The Clinton name does not appear in any documentation of the earliest settlers in Sevier County.
I know that the Clinton name started in England in the 11 or 12th century (or so that's what I've read). Has anyone out there researched the Clinton's who came from England/Scotland/Ireland prior to 1810? Does anyone have family members who ended up in Tennessee? I have already connected with a number of researchers but have not been able to get any information that will help to prove that Calvin's father is John, or to find where they came from. I am looking for anything new!! I am willing to share my information.

Does anyone have a Lucretia (Luci, Lucy) Clinton in their database?
There is a possibility that Lucy Clinton and John Love had a son born 1804 in NY. Lucy died early in the 1800's from complications of childbirth. That possibile son (Clinton Love) may have been raised by the family of Lucretia/Luci Clinton
If you have a Lucretia or a Lucy in your family history, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shirley
