I'm looking for information on Owen Joseph Clinton, born in Ardee, County Louth, Ireland bet March 23, 1842-1850 (I have found two differing accounts in old news articles). He died between 1921-1941, and his parents names (I think), were Ann (CLINTON) Clinton, and Peter CLINTON.
His uncle Peter CLINTON was a blacksmith in West Chester (Bronx), NY, and Owen took over the smith when Peter retired.
He immigrated to the US around 1852, and married Mary Jane LANE (b. October 1864, d. Feb 25, 1941).

Hi, Thanks. We had a house fire, about 20 years ago. At the time,it was horrable, and we had a very hard time. But in the long run, it worked out better for us. We moved , and now looking back, it seems like a God-send.
Good luck to you Jp\o

Hi Jo. I am so sad to tell you, all of my records, everything I own, were destroyed 11-13-01 when my home burned to the ground. I will be able to regroup once my home is rebuilt and I have a decent computer and program. Meanwhile, I suggest you contact: jdgen(a)earthlink.net
I shared data with him. There were several Mary Clintons and perhaps he can find a link for you.

I am not sure if it will be any help, but the largest bridge over New York's Hudson River (and it is huge) north of New York City and south of Poughkeepsie is called the TAPPAN ZEE bridge. That's Dutch and means, simply, "the Tappan Sea" bridge. Presumeably the name TAPPAN was an historic Dutch family name along that area of the Hudson River — soprominent that a wide part of the River there was actually named for the familly. You might check onthat TAPPAN spelling in that area to locate your relative.
Good luck.
