The records say that his name was Colebrook It is the name of a town where I believe that they lived. I have been in contact with several of the decendents of the Sheldon. I have a lot of the history on the family. Where do you live. I live in Calif. The other descendents that I know of live here in Calif. In place of using the message board my e-mail address is Gicbevt(a)aol.com. I will be glad to let you know any information that I have I also have a lot of photo's of the family I have been working on this for over 10 years.

Clinton, ( Arthur Beverly) was my gggrandfarther. He married Harriet A. Brookins in Penn. Their son, Sheldon S. Clinton was my ggrandfather. Sheldon married Ella M. Standish and had my grandmother Myrtle F. Clinton. . If you have any info on either Arthur or Harriet Brookins I would appreciate it, Thanks, Kelley. PS. I thought Arthur's name was Callenbrook not Colebrook??
I recently started a mailing list at RootsWeb for people interested in the
potential of DNA testing for genealogy research. I monitor other web sites
and mailing lists for mentions of this topic, and I saw your post on
CLINTON-L. I'd like to invite you to join our list and/or bring our mailing
list to the attention of subscribers to your list. We're always interested in
hearing about new projects, too.
You can browse past messages and sign up for the list at
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/Miscellaneous/GENEALOGY-DNA.html
Also, one of our list members, Chris Pomery, maintains a list of surname
projects at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~allpoms/genetics1a.html.
Be sure to let him know if you proceed with a CLINTON project!

Dear Clinton Researchers
I am writing to inquire if anyone on the list thinks there would be any
interest in conducting a CLINTON DNA research project.
I would personally like to know if I am related to George and DeWitt Clinton
families of NY and / or the family of Archibald Clinton of Chester Co. PA.
As I understand the process, if a Y chromosome test was done there would have
to be a male to male descendancy from the oldest Clintons.
II will have to admit that I don't have the faintest about how to proceed,
but I would like to see some discussion of the subject to see if there is any
interest.
Kind regards
Joanne Clinton Truman.

My Clinton line came to Boston area sometime between 1853 & 1856. Youngest child born in Ireland was born in 1853, my great grandfather was born in Roxbury, MA in 1856, so it's possible that we're talking of the same family. Please let me know if you come up with any way of distinguishing whether or not they are one in the same. Good luck!
