JoAnne,
This list has really been quiet recently. I suppose that everyone is
busy in their gardens this time of year. I do not have anything to add to
your Kentucky list, but I was wondering if you have any information on the
Clinton's of East Tennessee--primarily around Sevier County. They do not
show up there until the 1860 census for Sevier County. This is a very
confusing bunch. Do you know anyone on the list that might possibly have
some information on them? I will be happy to share what I have. Dianna

Greetings to our list members.
A few days ago, I went thru my Early KY Settlers CD and found the following
on CLINTONS IN KY. Can anyone on the list shed any light on even one of
these people? I'm still trying to connect the KY Clintons, so any clue would
be most welcome.
1. Samuel Clinton was in Capt.Joseph Redding's Co. Scott's Reg't KY militia
from Aug 14 to Oct 15, 1812
2. John Clinton marrid. Eliz's McDowgal (McDougal?) in Woodford Co. KY on
May 25, 1799, by Carter Tarrents.
3. Rachael Fauqueir, in her will dated Feb 1802 and probated Sept 1802 named
her dau. Elizabeth Clinton. Also names grand daus Mary McDougal, Sarah
McDougal, and Ann McDougal.. The will was filed in Scott Co. KY.
This makes me think that Elizabeth McDowgal was really McDougal and that she
had been married before she married John Clinton in 1799. And the thought
has also crossed my mind that John Clinton could have been married before too.
4. Moses Clinton marr. Elizabeth Hackett in Franklin Co. KY on Dec 6, 1797.
bondsman was Wm. Barnet, Teste was Dan'l Weisiger.
