Looking for information about family of George Hall Clinton b. 1883 in Michigan. Parents are Frank Clinton and Mary? Possibly Mary Smith. George married Alta Belle Riggs at Riggs home in Cheney, WA. Any information would be appreciated.

I live in Waukesha, Wisconsin (about 22 miles west of Milwaukee). I have just
begun to research the history of our1840 house and land, and in the abstract
of title found that the first non-Native American owner of the land (in 1839)
was a NORMAN CLINTON. Since there is another Clinton (D.E. or E.D.) who was
one of the founders of this city, I suspect that NORMAN was a son of this
person. However, I have as yet not found any birth, marriage, or death
records of Norman Clinton, but I am very much still on the search!
The city of Waukesha was then called Prairieville, and then Prairie Village
before getting it present name. It was also part of the COUNTY of Milwaukee
until the late 1850's (I think).
Anyway, it seems from my research so far that CLINTON was not a common
Wisconsin name, so I'm willing to bet that your ex-Wisconsinsite CLINTON has
a connection with my NORMAN. In terms of the dates, he could be a son or even
a grandson.
Anyway, I will keep your connection in mind when I am able to turn up any
further details on my CLINTON, and will post what I discover on this site.
Best of Luck
John-Julian Swanson

I would like to have some help finding my Grandfather on my grandmothers side. She is Bertha Rebecca Clinton. She is the first wife of Alwin Carleton. His second is Jeanie Bell. I would like information on both. Right now I am working on my grandmothers side. She had Valma Carleton, Vernon, and Virginia ( my mother), and Floyd Farmsworth Carleton. I would like to know how far back the family goes. Thanks for all the help you can give me. Josephine Lougee
