Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I noticed where Rootsweb announced the new Clinger list. I have a Fred David Clinger who was born 1885 in Illinois. In 1892 he married Sophia Johanna SHERNING in Minnesota; he died 1944 in Iowa. He was the son of David Clinger and Mary DAVIS, both born in Germany. Fred's siblings were Frank, Henry and Rose.
Go to our family web site at http://www.purfeerst.com and select the button for PURFURST GENEALOGY. There you can enjoy reading some history of Germany. At the bottom of the page select FAMILY FOUR. On the opening page read the family history. Then select PEDIGREE CHART; then select the SURNAME list and work your way alphabetically to Clinger. David married the step-daughter of my great-uncle, Herman PURFURST. Other links on the page with the family history will take you to back-up documentation on David and his family, i.e. obituaries, cemetery records, census, etc.
If you have any connection please let me know.
