Does anyone have additional info for ancestors of Moriz Klein, who was
married to
Anna Marzloff.
I have run across some notes from book, "Eighteenth Century Immigrants",
that I
would like to verify. The passage appears to have been taken from church
records, (?Hirschland Lutheran KB).
Hirschland Lutheran KB:
Mauritius Klein, son of Sebastian Klein of Steinsel, (Nieder or Ober
Stinzel) m. 19
Oct. 1706, Anna Catharina, daughter of Joh. Theobald Marzloff of Borstorff
(Postorff).
Moritz Klein from Steinsal, citizen at Postorff, and wife Anna Catharina had
children:
1. Johann Bernhard bp. 29 Nov. 1707 (q.v.); to America
2. A son (n.n.) [?Jacob] b. 8 Oct. 1713
3. Joh. Sebastian bp. 17 June 1716
(One Bastian em. 1739; no immigration notation; however, there is
an em.
note by the bp. of another Joh. Sebastian Klein who died there 18
Feb 1723.
4. A son (n.n.) and
5. A daughter (n.n.), twins bp. 20 Feb. 1719, To America
6. Hans Michael bp. 27 May 1725. To America
[He might be the Johann Michael Kelin who arrived on the ship
Friendship, 1744
with the Biebers, S-H, I: 357; or the Hans Mickel Klein on the
unnamed ship 20
Oct . 1747 with others from Hirschland and Postorff, S-H, I:370]
7. Johannes b. 16 Nov. 1727. To America
8. Joh. Theobald bp. 4 Jan. 1732
Does this look familiar to anyone?
BlankHello List!!
I am new to this list and have a new CLINE mystery that I'm hoping someone
on this list can help me solve.
Unknown Male CLIAN/CLINE b. SC m. Sarah ?? b. 1785-1789 TN
Who was her husband?
She had at least 2 children who were still unmarried at 1840 census:
Lethia b. 1821-1824 TN
Rebecca b. 1823 NC or TN
Mrs. Sarah CLINE married 1831-1840 to long-time widow John Bailus
STANDRIDGE, Sr. of Cherokee Co., NC who's children were already grown and
gone. Sarah had to be close by to met and marry John. Both CLIAN/CLINE
dtrs married in probably Cherokee Co., NC after 1840 census.
Lethia "Leathy" married Elisha ROBERTS Fall 1840 and Rebecca married Leroy
GOINS abt 1842
Between 1841-1850 John STANDRIDGE and his 2nd wife Sarah removed to Gilmer
Co., GA. In 1849 both married dtrs with children also arrived in Gilmer Co.
and reside in their household. They went to Gilmer probably on family
business for either the CLINEs or the ROBERTS as John had been a long-time
resident of NC and had no need to go to GA that I know of. They didn't stay
long.
Leathy is back residing in Cherokee Co., NC by 1854-1856 per recorded deed
in 1856 wherein she and her 1st of 2 sets of twins received 188 acres of
land from the STILES family paid for by John STANDRIDGE [Sr. or Jr.?]. Her
husband Elisha and the rest of her children are excluded from this deed.
Leathy's mother, Sarah, dies in Cherokee Co., NC after 1860 census. Most
all records for this time frame in Cherokee Co., NC were lost in courthouse
fires.
By 1860, Leathy and Elisha ROBERTS [b. TN] reside in Isabella area of Polk
Co., TN. Elisha dies abt 1863 possibly killed by bushwackers. Leroy and
Rebecca CLIAN-GOINS are in California by 1880 census after trotting thru MO
or AR.
Leathy's name was proven by her son's 1834 death certificate in Cedartown,
Polk Co., GA as "Lethia CLIAN" --- born in "Tenn". This death certificate
is completely filled out with no unknowns anywhere.
The only TN CLINE family that was ever enumerated as CLIAN that I can find
is William CLIAN in 1830 & 1840 Monroe Co., TN which does border Cherokee
Co., NC. William, b. same age as Sarah Clian-Standridge, re-married to
Permilla GRAYSON in 1839 Monroe which is probably about the same time that
Sarah married John Standridge. None of William's children by his first
marriage are in his household after his marriage to Permilla. This tells me
that he possibly divorced his first wife and their youngest or unmarried
children went with her. However, some researchers say that William was
first married to a Mary CLUCK who died in 1838. Does anyone have
documentation for his marriage to Mary and her death or are they assuming
she died since William re-married? Could Mary be Sarah Mary CLUCK? If not,
where does Mrs. Sarah CLIAN fit?
Lethia CLIAN ROBERTS names her first child, a dtr, Mary M. The ROBERTS
children were, in birth order:
Mary M.
John
James Dunigan
Sarah Vanessa
Benjamin J.
George Washington
Narcissa
Manoah "Noah"
Marion
Margaret Ella
Anna Miranda "Mira" twin
Elijah L twin
America twin
Andrew Jackson twin
Boyd D.
Jefferson
Lethia CLIAN-ROBERTS dies 1900 in Hemptown, Fannin Co., GA [borders Polk
Co., TN & Cherokee Co., NC] and is buried at Ducktown Cem., Ducktown, Polk
Co., TN.
Rebecca CLIAN-GOINS names her 'known' children:
Nancy
Mira
Lewis
H.M. [son]
Zinni K. [son]
