Dear Connie,
I received your message and I cannot believe that you would do that for me.
I can only confirm that MANSEL CLINE b. Aug 22, 1913, d. Apr 23, 1991. He
lived at least a good portion of his life outside of Jackson, MS and died the
same place. He may have been born there but I don't know. His wife's name
was K(C)atherine. He had at least one son named Johnny.
I live in Tennessee. I have not found any other information on a Mansel
Cline.
I really appreciate this but am just struck down that you would offer.
Thank you so much, even if you fail to find anything.
I will wait to hear from you.
Sue
Sue, if you haven't found out anything on your Mansel, I'll have a look on
the 1920 soundex for MS when I go to Salt Lake this next month. I'll leave
on the 23, so let me know before then of any pertinant information you might
have, if this would be helpful to you.

To Everyone Interested,
I have sent an email to a tv station in St. Louis for a possible email address about the cemetery being moved. I am waiting for a reply. I and the lady who sent the info to a list I'm on have been working for hours trying to get a contact. It is really late and I'm off here for the night. I live in Texas so I know nothing more than what I've sent, good luck on finding your ancestors.
Below is a message she sent me, it gives some contact info. Please don't wait too long.

Someone out there must "know" my missing relative!
William CLINE, b ca 1817-1820 (depending on source) in Indiana Co, PA. No
known relatives. At some point he moved to Belmont Co, OH (across from
Wheeling WV) and m Nancy NORMAN on 3 May 1838. He had 13 children, the first
9 girls; last two boys William and David. He was a shoemaker, and served
during the Civil War in the 1WV, Co C and the 2nd Regt WV Veterans Inf, Co E.
Birth location in Indiana Co, PA is based on Civil War enlistment papers and
census data. There is a Solomon CLINE shown in Indiana Co, PA in the early
1800s. Father?
Belmont Co marriage records show an Isaac CLINE getting m in 1835 and a
Margaret CLINE getting m in 1836. Siblings?
Any help appreciated!! He's been a brick wall, and there's LOTS of CLINES in
the PA/OH region. He must fit somewhere! Sharon
I'll keep this and try to find a connection.
Thanks,

Hi Everyone,
I am looking for any information anyone has about GEORGE CLINE, b. circa
1780 d. 1854. He was from Mercer County, NJ and moved to Mifflin Township,
Lycoming County, PA and was listed on the 1800 census with a female head of
household and one child under 16. His wife's name was Elizabeth. She was
born 1781 and died 7-8-1851, and is buried on a farm in Mifflin Township. I
found and took a picture of her tombstone. They had the following children:
James b. 1810
Jacob - married Ellen Hallsey 9-3-1850
William
Maria - married William Crow
Mrs. John Nabal b. circa 1805
Mrs. George Johnson
Mrs. Fannie Rosencrans
According to the history of Tioga County PA a Rebecca (K)line was married to
John Nabal b. 1808. This was the only John Nabal listed in this time frame,
so this implies one daughter's name was Rebecca. Her tombstone reads
Rebecca Nabal, wife of John died 6-11-1836, aged 31 years.
If anyone has any information about George, like who his parents were, I'd
greatly appreciate it. The church he attended has been torn down, and the
records lost. Also any information about his wife Elizabeth would be
helpful. Thank you for any help you can give.

Edward, and List,
Do you have a James CLINE(S) in your CLINE family? Our James CLINE(S)
would have been born 20 March 1793 place unknown. James died 22 June 1834
in Scott Co, Indiana and was buried in Bethel Cemetery, Scott Co, Indiana.
He married Mary HOUGLAND/HOUGHLAND about 1820 place unknown. Mary was born
about 1790/1805 in Owen Co, Kentucky and died 20 September 1873 in Scott Co,
Indiana. Their known children were:
1) Rev. James Tobias CLINE(S), born about 1820 in Indiana and died 1874/1878
in Miami Co, Kansas.
2) Jacob CLINES, born about 1823.
3) William D. CLINES, born about 1830.
4) Jonathan C. CLINES, born about 1833 and died 1923.
5) Abram CLINE
6) Levi/Lewis CLINE(S)
7) Sarah Jane CLINE(S), born about 1843.
Several of the children above are not proven yet. There were probably
other children born to this family, but we have no proof of that, either.
The HOUGLAND/HOUGHLAND's married into this family, at least, four
times.between 1820/1877.

Interesting. I have William H Cline b 1811, NC. He m Lavinia RUTH. The RUTH
family came from haywood Co NC, but I have not found in NC where the Cline
family lived. Billie
Ok everyone, listen up ! I know someone is hiding my GGrFather Thomas (Tom) M. Cline(s). Now whoever is tell him it is "ally, ally, umpkins free" !!!
NO kidding, I have no leads, no idea and almost no hope. His tombstone says he was born - 1845 - Kansas City - (no state), he died in Kirbyville, TX (supposedly) on 1Mar1928, buried in Jasper, TX. He married Sarah Ann Bradshaw , 10Jul1870 in Franklin, MS. On the 1880 Newton Co., TX (which is on fire right now, over 16,000 acres have burned so far, and the fire is still uncontained!) Thomas M. Cline(s) was shown to have been born in IN, F-KY, M-KY still have had no luck. The Newton courthouse burned last month, it was a beautiful old historic building. The fire is not too many miles from here today, we are hoping for rain to help, no rain for abt 69 days.
Ma (Sarah Ann) died 9Sep1942 in Kirbyville and her death certificate says she lived there 75 years, she was 100 yrs 3 mo 6 days when she died.
I have not been able to find any death cert. for Pa. I think I saw a John Clines in this area in the death cert. book. I will have to go back and see.
Please, if anyone sees Pa, T.M.C., tell him I'm looking for him.
Be Blessed,
Lorene in TX
Connie, and List,
I want to run this by you, and see what you think.
Would it be possible that your John Cline is allied to all the Clines
out of Sullivan Co., TN.
My anscester was Thomas Jefferson Cline b. 1811 possibly Augusta Co.,Va.
he married Nancy Shoemaker of Sullivan Co.,TN, and moved to Calib. Co.,
TN by 1830.
Cline in early Sullivan Co., tax lists:
Andrew Cline 1797 Sullivan Co., TN
Jacob Cline Jr. 1822 Sullivan Co., TN
The 1850 Sullivan Co., cen records is full of various Cline lines, they
have to be connected somewhere, some of these lines went to Monroe Co.,
TN also.
Some early Sullivan Co. TN. names and dates of birth are:
Jacob Cline b. abt 1798 Va. m. Olivia
Jacob Cline b. abt 1799 Va. m. Ludia
John Cline b. abt 1804 TN. m. Margaret Hawk
Alexander Cline b. 1814 Augusta Co., Va. m.
Pensa Holly Moody d. Texas. (This could be
a brother of my Thomas Jefferson Cline but
nothing proven at this time. The Moody line goes
back into Thomas Jefferson Cline line also.
Samuel Cline b. abt 1816 Va m. Mary(in
1850 Sullivan Co., TN Census, also Catherin
Cline b.abt 1798 living with this family).
David Cline b. abt 1818 Va. m. Jane
These families all have children with names of George,Susan, William,
John, David, James, Jacob, Margaret to mention just a few.
Since Rhea Co., and Monroe Co., TN are all close, could it be possible
that all these lines merge somewhere? One of Thomas Jefferson Cline's
sons moved to Monroe Co., TN. by 1860 and married into the Bellamy lines
that were there. The Bellamy family was in Claib. Co., before moving
into Monroe Co., also one of TJ daughters married a Bellamy.
I have been wondering about these lines for a while, just not enough
information to do any matching.
Any ideas from anyone.
I have put quary's on other forums, and even went to county pages, with
not much luck, so I will try the Cline forum.
Thanks,

Some of these names sure are the same as members of my family. But it is
so confusing. I've had a hard time putting them all together. My
grandmother's grandfather was a Cline, his name was John, I'm not sure
what her grandmother's name was. Her mother Louise Jane Cline, married
William Martin Daniel. My grandmother Ida Daniel (born September 20,
1874 in MO)married my grandfather Robert E. Lee Cline born September 26,
1866 in GA) on July 25, 1889 in Bosque County. TX. His father was George
Washington Cline who married Narcisa Newton, Feb 4, 1852 in Haywood
County, NC.
My grandmother Ida also had an uncle named George Washington Cline. So
I'm confused about it all. I don't have the time I'd like to have to
work on it.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. If I can answer any
questions for you I will.
Thanks,
Claudie Cline Thompson

Connie,
Have you posted your inquiry to the Clemmer-L list and the Tennessee lists?
There are some connections between the Clemmers and Clines...as well as the
Gaston's in Monroe County Tn. which is geographically near Rhea County, TN.
Julia Clemmer married a Cline, for instance. If you don't have them the
addys for two Tennessee lists for this area is SE-TN-L-request(a)rootsweb.com
and
NE-TN-L-request(a)rootsweb.com
