Claudie:
Our George Washington Cline was born in 1838. He died March 17,1869.He
was buried in a cemetery just outside Monroeville,Indiana. The Johnathon
Kline/Cline stone had no dates on it.I plan on submitting a request to
National Archives for service record of Johnathon. I have done so for George
Washington Cline. Be aware, that since we knew our G.W.Cline was from the
Ohio/Indiana area,I searched & found data on a good number of people in
those two States with the exact spelling as well as a few from the same time
frame.I have a list of many of our G.W. Cline's descendants,as well as his
wife & her family. If anything looks close, please advise & I will share what
I have.I looked deeply into another G.W.Cline from farther South in Indiana
& have a bit on him too.

Can you give me the date of birth and death from the marker.
My great grandfather was George Washington Cline,
also on the other side I have a George Washington Cline
who is a great great uncle. My great grandfather who fought
in the Civil War was supposed to be buried in a Texas
cemetery near Whitney, but I haven't been able to locate it.
I have no information on my great great uncle.
Thanks,

Researching Cline/Kline family.In a Cemetery near Monroeville,Ind. is
located two Cline/Kline Civil War Vets. One is my wife's GG Grandfather
George Washington Cline. His marker lists him as G.W.Kline of Co. C. 2nd Ind.
Cav. His correct spelling is Cline & he served in Co. C. 2nd Ohio Cav. We
have pretty much verified this information. Near his grave is a Johnathon
Kline marker, listing his service as Co. C. Ohio Infantry. We would like to
verify the ID of Johnathon & see if he is in fact related to
G.W.Kline/Cline.
Any help appreciated.

I am looking for Cecil Cline, who wrote a book about Clines, McCoys, and
related families in Kentucky. Are you out there, Cecil? Your name was
given
to me by a woman named Susie who has your book. Are they still available?
I am looking for info on my dad's family. Richard Epperson (Epp) Thompson
was my g'father. He was born 1895, died of strychnine poisoning in Draffin,
KY in 1946 (apparent suicide). He is buried in the Thompson family cemetery
in Zebulon. Does anyone know of this cemetery?
My g'mother was Elizabeth (Lizzie) Williamson, b. 12-1891 at Piso, KY. I
believe she is the d/o James Harvey G. Williamson, b. 10-1860 in Pike Co.,
and Perlina Howard, b. March 1865 in Pike, m. 4-1-1886 at the home of
Delanah
Howard.
Epp's father was Kenis H. Thompson; mother, Mary E. Charles. Mary's father
was Greenville Charles and mother Margaret Bevins, d/o James Bevins. (This
info from Jonah. Thanks, Jonah!) Greenville Charles, Sr. was married to
Isabella Goff, among others.
In looking over some printouts on the line of Alden Williamson last nite
(Foolish me! I found a HUGE Alden W. site, printed out the Williamsons, but
didn't note the URL and since we crashed, have no idea where it was or how
to
contact the web owner!! Live and learn.), I came across a James H.
Williamson, b. abt. 1858, father Jonah Williamson (1834-1865), mother Mary
Bevins (1837-1898) and spouse Isobell Goff. Do any of you have info on any
of these people? I could be wrong, but get a "feeling" about this James
Williamson. My dad was adopted, and his birth name was Homer Jonah
Thompson.
We know the Homer came from a family friend; Homer Cline is what dad says,
and his wife, Dollie. (Dad's twin sister was Dollie Lolly Thompson--poor
thing!) (If anyone has any links to Homer and Dollie, I'd like to know that,
too!) Anyway, it struck me that dad's middle name is Jonah, and if I've got
the right Lizzie Williamson, and this is her dad James, her g'father could
have been this Jonah. Also, if this Isobell Goff and Mary Bevins are
connected to the Charles family's Isabella Goff and Margaret Bevins--well,
then my grandparents were probably kissin' cousins or something. Records
show my James Williamson and Perlina Howard to have been about 34 and 30,
respectively, when they married. If this is true, then Isobell Goff could
have been James' 1st wife.
Sorry this is so long, listers!

Researching George Washington Cline. George born in about 1838,we think in
Ohio to Henry Cline and Rebecca Patton Cline. George died March 17,1869 in
Monroeville,Allen County,Indiana. We know he served in 2nd Indiana
Cavalry,Co. C. during Civil War.We have requested his service records from
the National Archives. We would like to verify his birth place and try to
find ancestral information as well as any siblings and how many children &
names. We know that George had married at least one & possibly twice. He
married Cathering Jane Magner in Van Wert,Ohio in 1857. They had at least
three children,all girls. Cornelia Cline.b 1862;Ida L. Cline(My wife's great
great grandmother) b. 1866 & Catherine Cline b. 1870.
Any help with this part of the family line would be appreciated. The
research into the Magner line gave us George's death information & a good
track on Catherine Jane Magners lineage. We are at a standstill on George
Washington Cline.
