His name was really James D Marin Cline but I have found some of his
descendents listing him as Martin Cline. Mother called him uncle Marin. He
was 9 & listed as James D. M.in the 1850 Yell Co AR census & born in TN.

My Martin Kline was b abt 1824 in Lancaster PA. He married Margaret Lutz
and possibly had 2 children. They were in the 1850 Lancaster City PA
Census but she was listed as Rebecca. He left Margaret and came to
Greentownship OH with Caroline Hart and they had 5 children. They were in
OH in 1860. He fought in the Civil War. Both Caroline and Margaret tried
to claim his pension as his widow. His children with Caroline are:
Miles, Addison, Martin, Irwin and Martha. I do not know who his parents
were.

A scandal?
not for sure but would expect it means her right to be called his widow
was contested perhaps digging deeper might show property arguments which
someone else might have fought for in a court.

Did any of this Cline/Kline family, in the book, end up in PA about 1770's? I can't connect a County in PA.
The names all match the family of Cline/Kline that I'm researching from PA to OH in early 1800's. Jacob Kline b. c1778 in PA, had sons Michael b. c 1811 and John b. 1817 in PA. Possible brother to Jacob was George Kline, All Green Township, Stark and Summit Co., OH. John Kline lived in East Liberty, OH in 1840 (then Stark Co. later Summit

William b. July 18, 1840 m. Angeline Viers in May 1869 d. Jan 1916
Jacob b c1843
Andrew b. c 1845
Catherine b. 1847 m. Barnabus Wines in 1870
John, JR. b. Feb. 1850 d. Dec 11, 1916
Emanuel b. July 1851 (2nd) m. Sarah Eulitt, he d. May 8, 1915
Hiram b. 1854
Sarah A. b. Dec. 1856 m. Frank Spidle in Aug 1875 she d. June 13, 1922
Henry b. 1859 m. Nora Smartwood in 1881
Also looking for any decendants of the above. I know all the "children" were in Summit Co., OH in 1891 when Catherine died.

Is you source of information the book "Cline-Kline Family" by Paul G. Kline,
Linville, VA? This book (about our Cline family) says:
First Generation. George Klein b Sept. 13, 175. d Ja. 2, 1788, m: Dorothy
Rebman.
Records indicate that George Klein, Sr. was a Lutheran Minister when he
arrived in America, 1738. He settled at Amwill, N.J., joined the Church of
the Brethren, then known as the German Baptist. He became a minister of that
failth in N.J.
Children: George Klein, Jr.
Phillip Klein
David Klein
Abraham Klein
Jacob Klein
Sarah Klein m: Joseph Sollenberger of Carlyle, Pa.
George Klein, Jr. was the father of our ancestor Michael Kline (later Cline).
I'd just like to be sure we're talking about the same family?! What was
your source? Pat L.
After reading what was related of Joh. George Cline And the Joh. Georg Klein are similar reading and it makes me think it is the same Georg that migrated from Germany in 1738. His Father was Jacob and he lived in Zweibrucken, Rhenish, Bavaria, So. Germany. Joh. Georg two brothers migrated but not at the same time that he left Germany.
Georg Klein was a carpenter and turned to Religion: Brethern Church ,where he became a minister. I have more info if you are interested.

Seeking information on the Johannes Kleyn family of Ulster County, New York.
These Kleyns came from Holland and were in Ulster County by the late 1600s.
I believe that they were the forerunners of the Schoharie Kleyn/Clyne
families and that they may well be the predecessors of the Whitehall,
Washington Co., NY Clyne/Clines. Any information will be appreciated.

I don't know if I connect yet. I'm still trying to sort out the Cline's to
see where mine fit. I do have a biographical sketch of an Arthur Kline of
Ross Co, Ohio. He is the son of a Daniel Kline (born VA) whose father is a
Peter L. Kline who emigrated from Germany. If that is of any interest to
you, let me know & I'll email you a transcription.
I would like the info on the children of your Peter & Rosanna.

The only Elizabeth CLINE in my Cline family tree was Elizabeth b abt 1809/10
, probably in Augusta or Rockingham Co, VA (daughter of Michael and Elizabeth
Byrer Cline) who married Solomon Stoner in Ross Co OH 6 May 1825. I don't
think that yours is from our family, at least not to my knowledge. Sorry.

Hi, Elizabeth Cline married to Thomas Goldsberry are my
GGGGrandparents. Are you related to Elizabeth Cline? I still do not know
for sure who her parents were. Her father could possibly be John Cline that
lived in Ross Co, Ohio, he is listed in the 1820 census with many female
children.
Do you or any one else have any information Elizabeth Cline?
Thank you
