I don't think I have ever used the GenConnect boards. Do I access them
through Rootsweb? Seems to me I've seen them advertised there. Do you have
to be a coontributing member to use them?

Betsy,
Thanks loads, looks like this could be my Jacob. Need to look into this
further.
My 4th g-grandfather Richard Mattocks also joined at Sunbury. I believe his
wife Mary was the dau. of Jacob Cline.
You've made my day, I'd almost given up on this line.

Twp, Northumberland Co. PA from the early 1770's to 1785. In
1786 he located in Jefferson Twp, Greene Co. PA and established
a fort called Ft. Kline about 5 miles sw of Fort Georges. Read more

Hi Paula,
I'm curious about your Jacob Cline. My great and great-great grandfathers
were Jacob Cline Mattocks. Sr. was the son of Jacob & Margaret Mattocks,
born Crawford Co., PA. The parentage of this Jacob Mattocks is blurry, only
known info is that his parents were Jacob and Mary. Now Margaret is another
story. Her parents were Richard and Mary ? Mattocks. Probate records of
Crawford Co. show Jacob Cline's estate with the "German Language Bible"
being will to "Polly" Mattocks. They lived in Northumberland County during
the Rev. War. Penn Township according to Richard's Rev. War Pension papers.
Does this tie in anywhere with your George/Jacob Cline?

I am not absolutely sure, but I believe the George Cline Sr referred to here
is the George CLine that was born in 1742 in Germany, fought in the
Revolutionary War in the 12th Pennsylvania regiment and ended up in Monroe
Co OH where he died in 04/14/1801 near New Matamoras OH. His wife was
Susannah Buck who lived until 1840. He is one of my ancestors. He had a
son John who also had a son John. My ancestor was George's son, Jacob.

Brought to you by RootsWeb.com.
I would be interested in learning more about the dates and locations of the
John, Esq., John and George, Sr., if you might have that. I have a John
1843, GA and a John 1785, possibly TN or N/S Carolina. Any help would be
appreciated.

Deborah,
If you would like to post this obit on
the Cline GenConnect Obit board there
is a link for it on my homepage.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pamwvgen
By posting it there, others that is not
subbed to the list will also be able to see it.
For the safety of the family, omit the
time of the services.
Also, everyone, do not forget about the
GenConnect Boards. Be sure and post your
queries, bios, obits, deeds, and wills
there also. It is another way to get
your names out on the web. People will
be able to find this through the
Surname search. What is posted to this
list is not in the surname search.
