Do you have any reason to believe that your Philip Cline might have
passed through Monroe County, Ohio? In the 1830 Monroe Co.
census index, in Centre Twp., there's a Philip Cline who appears
only that year.
There was no Philip in the family of George Cline of Monroe Co.,
whose descendants populated the entire county and then some.
Another anomalous Cline is Adam, who appeared only in 1820.
He was between the ages of 26 and 44.
I don't have access to the full 1830 census, but there are some
wonderful researchers in Monroe County who may be able to help.

If you get an answer to this request, please let me know where to get the
book also. I would love to have it as these are my ancestors also. Thanks!

Hello compadres...
I am searching for proof of Philip Cline's parentage. He is shown on the
1850 Ravenna (Portage Co.) census. He was b. in VA in 1777, m. to a Mary
"Polly" _____? He is presumably the father to my gg grandfather...Anthony
Cline and his brother Jacob, who were both b. in OH. Both sons came west to
Oregon and Washington Territory. Would appreciate any clarification and
collaboration on this Cline Line! Thanks!

Hello,
I have been on this list for a while, and every once in a while I post
this request I am still hoping someone can help me over one of my brick
walls. I am looking for any and all information on Rhoda (Roda)
Franklin and Benjamin Cline. Does anyone have information on a Cline
branch in Vermont, in the late 1700's early 1800's?
This is everything I know:
According to the death certificate of one Henry A. Cline of Bloomfield,
Oakland County, Michigan [born 1832, died 1910, both in Michigan] the
parents are listed as Rhoda Franklin & Benjamin Cline.
Michigan did not begin to keep birth records until 1855 or so, and death
records start in 1867, there are some marriage records from the 1830's
but very few.
On the 1850 Federal census for Bloomfield, Oakland County, Michigan
there is a Roda Cline age 51, from Vermont, listed under the household
of one Joseph Gilbert. And this is the only census I have found her.
What has frustrated me in the past is that Benjamin does not appear on
any census records at all. And I could not find him as a property owner
in Oakland County. Now I am assuming that he has already died by the
time of the 1850 census, and that is why there is no death record for
him. There is no Rhoda Cline on the 1860 census, so again I am assuming
that she too managed to die before record keeping begun. And of course
I haven't been able to find either of them in any cemetery in the
county!
As you can see I know very little, and have ruled out several sources,
there are no birth records for me to check, I feel they were married by
the time they came to Michigan, and they both seem to have died before
record keeping started. I can't find him as a land owner either. So if
you kind people on this list could point me in the right direction I
sure would be grateful.

Hello,
While tracking my Cline family, I have run into a couple of references to a
book that I would like to find. This book, "The Family of George Cline,
Sr., and Susannah Buck - 1735-1801," by Lloyd D. Cline, was published (I
think) in 1962, and is about my immigrant Cline ancestors.
Does anyone have any information on this book, especially regarding how and
where I might get a copy?
Thanks.

--The Cline Reunion Committee
Peter CLINE was married to Elizabeth RIFE. They had a daughter Sarah Ann who
married Abraham HONAKER about 1803 in VA. Tradition has it that Sarah Ann
was a small woman, weighing less than 100#.
I am looking for the ancestors of Peter CLINE. I have lots of HONAKER
information that I will be willing to share.
