Hi, I'm new to this list and was wondering if anyone out there is descended
from David Cline, born May 20, 1796, in either VA or MD and who died in
Noble County, OH, on June 09, 1857. He was married to Elisabeth DeLong. I
believe he may be the son of John Cline, but have not been able to prove
this. My belief is based on research done by two other people and,
unfortunately, my attempts to contact them to find out the source of their
information have not met with any success.
I have quite a bit of information on David's son Isaac and have Isaac's
family Bible.
Hi All,
This looks like a real good tool to share with all that
can benefit from this.
Kind Regards,

Hi Daniel,
I haven't used Family Tree. I have Family Origins 7.0.
I originally purchased, totally being a "newbie", Ultimate
Family Tree Maker Deluxe for $70. I never did figure out
how to use it. It had a terrible interface that it wouldn't
let you beyond, unless you were a master genealogist. It had
all my males as female, and all my females as males.
So, I just started listening to others. Some said they were
happy with Brother's Keeper, others with Family Origins 7.0.
I knew better that to try to learn The Master Genealogist.
I wasn't sure which I wanted to buy, and kept asking the more
experienced genealogists.
Finally, I found someone that had tried a number of different
programs. I asked him about the BK and FO 7.0. He said that
overall he would recommend the Family Origins 7.0, and told
me where to find it for $30. That's at:
http://www.parsonstech.com/software/fowin7.html
I've barely had time to use it yet, and so can't recommend it
myself, except that it is user-friendly, and has an easy interface.
It's the kind that you can start using before even reading the
instructions. So, I thought I'd throw that into the suggestions
you are receiving. There are a couple of more expensive versions
of it. But, the extras they were offering weren't things I needed.

I just purchased Family Tree Maker v. 6 (the new version just came out!)
with 15 genealogy discs for $59.95 on sale! Plus, they are offering a $20
rebate! The retail price is $79.95 for the deluxe set with the 15 CD's,
but there are several smaller sets. But with the rebate they are offering,
you should go big! The software is WONDERFUL! It seems to be the #1 that
people use....almost EVERY genealogist I've met online uses it. But it can
also read other software's programs if you get files sent to you via email.
Also, they have an online technical list that you can join where you can
talk to other users and technicians about problems you have or questions.
They also have a website, if you want to check them out without going to a
store.
http://www.familytreemaker.com
I bought mine at Best Buy...if you have one near by - check with them.
They are ALWAYS running sales on the sets. Plus they are the cheapest
place for software ANYWAY regular price.
Good luck!

primarily Floyd County:
Fraley, Campbell, Nunnery, Click, Ratliff, Crider, Music, Setser
Cline, Ray, Prater, Pigman, Patton, Stephens, McCoy, Cornett, Taylor
Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in....<G>
I have Generations Deluxe. I prefer this to Family Tree Maker. I have both
actually but use Gen Deluxe. The FTM seems to be the choice of the Web. I
have a friend who has The Master Genealogist and thinks it is the best. I
think that it is just a preference. I have also used Brother's Keeper and
did not care for it at all. Generations Deluxe is made by Sierra and has the
same boards and help as FTM....
Good luck on your choice!!

Your best bet is to d/l the demos... <G>

I'd have to agree with you Margaret. Family Tree Maker is the best I've used, both in ease of use and features. And it's a better deal to buy v5.0, then upgrade to the newer v6.0. There's lots of other choices out there tho, so do your homework Daniel before you decide on one. Check out the web sites of various programs....several will let you download an evaluation version or demo before you buy.

Daniel,
You can not go wrong by going with "Family Tree Maker" 5.0. You can
pick it up at Sam's for under $100. They will let you update for $19.95
for every update issued.

Hello there..I am looking for information on Christian or Christopher Cline
b. circa 1840. Married Keturah Kniffen aproximately 1846. Their children
were Albert, Melvin, Milo, George Pratt, Lewis, Daniel and Katie Louise.
They lived in Walton, Delaware County, NY. Most are buried there.
Christian died 5March1903, Keturah died 24April1923.
I'm new to this list...I hope someone out there has some info on these
people. I have lots on their descendants and other family members.

I am trying to find information about my gggrandfather, Adam Cline. His daughter, Myrtle Cline Wade, was my ggrandmother. She was born somewhere in Kentucky (1894) but moved to West Virginia before her marriage to Dennis Cleve Wade in 1912 in Greenview (Boone Co.), WV.
A family bible gives Adam's parents names as Jimmie Cline and Pricey Robbards (Roberts?).
Adam was married to Eveline Hall but he was killed c. 1899 (probably in KY) and Eveline remarried a Thompson or a Thomas.
If anyone has any information, I would be most appreciative.
