on this name. If not, is there another list I should be on?

Kevin,
I am descended from Peter Heck (1)through his son Humphrey,
his daughter Clara Alice married Smith Hatfield. (2) Peggy
Margaret Cline married Markus (Keneda) Kennedy. Peggy
and Marcus' son Eli had a son, Sanford that married Alifaire
the daughter of Clara and Smith.
Then I am descended from Ingabo Cline that married Luke Toler.
Ingabo was the daughter of Andrew Cline and Mary Aliff. Andrew
was the son of Peter and Lucinda. I have Lucinda as the daughter
of Zachariah Toler and Lucinda Blankenship. Which Peter is this.

I have noticed the exchanges on the CLINE-L page regarding Clines of
Kentucky. I am trying desperately to find my Cline line in Kentucky.
In the 1910 census of Illinois my Levi W. Cline b. 1845 in Indiana says
that his parents were both born in Kentucky. I do not have their
names. I have also been told that there could possibly be some Cherokee
Indian in the line. I would appreciate any help offered. Are there any
books out there published on Clines of Kentucky?
Thank you,
Nancy Cline

I found your Peter Heck, i think!? He was Peter Cline Jr., fourth son of
Peter Cline Sr.. He married Mary (Polly) Smith, daughter of Thomas Smith.
They settled on Horse Pen Fork of Gilbert Creek sometime after 1820. They
were parents of 17 children: Thomas, Elizabeth, Jacob, David Cline,
Cathryn, Humphrey, Martha, Dicy, Jane, Margaret, Sarah, Mary Ann, Peter,
Clara, John, Paulina, and Larkin! Sound like the right one. I have the
marriage info for all of those kids and birth years.
Peter Cline Sr., was also the father of Jacob Cline, the father of my Pete
Cline (who married Elizabeth "Bet" McCoy). So THAT's how the two Pete's
are connected!
The info came from an article called "Peter Cline, Sr., Pioneer Settler" -
from The East Kentuckian, June 1972 by Virginia M. Bare. It shows ALOT of
other Peter Cline's as well. Also lists all of your Peter Heck and Jacob's
brothers and their children.
How are you descent from Jacob? You said you were descent from Peter Heck
twice, how so? Take care.

Hi Clinsters. The recent questions that have been raised re: the many Peter
Clines are all answered in my book on The Clines and Allied Families of the
Tug River Region of KY and WV. Peter Cline, the progenitor of these Clines
served in the American Revolution, and some of his service history is
documented in the book. After his discharge in 1777, he appears to have
migrated down the Shenadoah Trail, and was in Montgomery Co. VA in 1786. About
1812 he located, with all of his children except one daughter, to the Tug
River Region of Floyd Co. KY/Logan Co. VA. Peter Heck was his youngest Child.
He also had a grandson named Peter who married Elizabeth McCoy. My book
contains 360 pages and has over 4400 names of the Peter Cline Descendants and
their marriages. The book is published by Gateway Press and costs $35.00,
including shipping. I have about a dozen copies left. Cecil Cline, 3530 1st
Avenue SW, Naples, FL 34117.

I'm working on a lot of McCoy lines because they married into the Fraley
and Cline families I'm also working on.
According to the book "The McCoy's: Their Story", John and Margaret Jackson
McCoy had the following children:
Nancy m. William Staton
Rachel m. James Ferguson
William m. Sarah James (their daughter Melinda married William "Bud"
Fraley, an uncle of mine, and their grandson Harlow W. McCoy
married my aunt Mouse Fraley...so I've researched these lines in depth)
Andrew m. Nancy Justice
Pleasant m. Louvicy Chapman
Randolph m. Elizabeth Sansom
John "Buttermilk" Jr. m. Nancy Webb & Lizzie Maynard - his son Thomas
married Margaret Blackburn, who was the daughter of Mose and Susannah
Fraley Blackburn who is an aunt of mine I've researched in depth)
Margaret m. William Trigg Cline, brother to Pete Cline my ancestor...I've
researched in depth
Elizabeth "Bet" m. Peter Cline - my ancestors
Asa Peter m. Nancy Sansom Pike & Frances Muncy
Pete and Bet McCoy Cline had the following children:
Josephine m. John Crider (another relative of mine)
Asa P. m. a Burchett (I have the name in my papers at home - I believe I've
researched her family as well because they're connected)
Peter Elcana "Dude" m. Laura Porter
Colonel Calvin m. Margaret Porter
Elsie "Demp" m. Alexander Crider - my ancestors / Elsie is NOT listed in
"The McCoy's: Their Story"
Ida m. Wallace Bailey Fraley (an uncle of mine)
Louise m. John Cornett (a family I have researched in depth)
Daniel McCoy, who was the brother to John Sr., had a son Asa Harmon McCoy.
He married Pete and William Trigg Cline's sister Martha "Patty" Cline...so
I am greatly interested in that McCoy line as well.
Has anyone discovered the cause of death of John and Margaret Jackson
McCoy? They both died on the same day! They were born on the same day and
year too - except one was August the other April....how weird?!?!? Has
anyone ever found a photo of them or any of their children?
Has anyone else heard the rumour that Margeret was a niece of President
Andrew Jackson? I haven't been able to find anything on his family to
research it.
There's the basics I have. If anyone is working on the lines above, I'd
LOVE to hear from you...especially the lines that I am working on several
connections with. Take care.

I am waiting on a book on the Cline's by Cecil Cline...I don't have a
record of your Peter Heck and Mary Smith Cline, so I can't say right now
how the 2 Pete's were connected. Cecil is on this list, as well as others
who have his book maybe someone reading this will look up Peter Heck Cline.
I am descent from Peter and Elizabeth McCoy Cline. I've been discussing
them a lot on the MCCOY list through Rootsweb. He was the son of Jacob and
Nancy Fuller Cline. How are you descent from them. My line is.....
Pete and Bet Mccoy Cline begat Elsie Cline. She married Alexander Crider
and begat Ida Crider. She married J.D. Fraley and begat my grandfather
Pearl Fraley.
Take care. Let me know if you don't hear from anyone and I'll try to find
your other Peter...plus I'm anxious to see how you are descent from my
Peter.

"I hear an echo through the aching distance -
I know your injured voice,
You stand behind this Wall of Ice between us
I guess you had no choice...
You had to save yourself - I understand
You're afraid to put your Heart into my careless Hands
Oh, they're so much stronger now
If you can find a way somehow to trust in me
I won't let go.......
Sometimes a foolish heart will try to travel
Faster than the Speed of Grace
It's like we try to ride into the Sunset
And fall off into Space
I realized - what I had done
When I almost let you crash into the Sun
You were only reaching out
I will never let you down that way again
I won't let go......."

Hello all,
I am very confused. But with my family lines, it
is an easy thing to do. I am descended from
Peter Heck Cline and Mary Smith twice. In another
branch of my family it is Peter and Elizabeth. Can
anyone help me straighten out these Peter's.
Thanks, Pam Blankenship Honaker

Hi, listers
I was reading Cline obituaries on Ancestry.com today and there must be hundreds from KY. They are not too old but they certainly do established lots of family links. I think this database costs, though.......but, it might be worth a 1/4 year membership.
Regards,
Susan from RI
