Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Please read!!! If you do receive such a message, do not
open. Rootsweb takes every precaution possible to protect

Subject: Recent Virus Reports
Date: Thu, 16 Dec 1999 00:41:57 -0500
Hi, folks -
We've had a lot of reports tonight about a virus being passed
around on RootsWeb lists. I have looked into these reports
and it does NOT appear that the viruses have actually been
sent through our lists.
I've included a semi-technical explanation of what I have been
able to find out, for those of you who are curious. The only
important message here is that RootsWeb's lists are NOT the
source of recent virus reports.
What seems to be happening is that the current flock of viruses
do the following things when they infect a new computer:
* The virus sends a copy of itself to everyone in the
computer's address book;
* It forges its own return address to look like it was sent by
someone *else* in the address book;
* and it uses the Subject line from a message that was recently
sent from that machine.
So if an infected person sent mail to BUMBLEROTTER-L(a)rootsweb.com,
the virus might send out mail like this to someone else in the
victim's address book:
From: BUMBLEROTTER-L(a)rootsweb.com
To: joe(a)example.com
Subject: [BUMBLEROTTER] looking for Fred and Wilma Bumblerotter
<http://stuart.messagemates.com/index.html>http://stuart.messagemates.com/index.html
Hypercool Happy New Year 2000 funny programs and animations...
We attached our recent animation from this site in our mail ! Check it
out !
Even though the mail never was sent to RootsWeb, the return address
is forged to make it appear as if it came from us.
I will continue to work on figuring out if there is anything that
we can do about this; in the meantime, please assure any concerned
subscribers that subscribing to a RootsWeb list is not dangerous. :-)

Anyone out there?
I am researching the above names who settled in Grimsby & Saltfleet Twps
Ontario. There is a family cemetery locally that I believe belongs to this
family.
Cline st. in Hamilton may also be named after this family.
Any matches?

You amy be interested that K.W. Cline passed away in August but will
not be in a cemetery list because of cremation. I know nothing about
the genealogy project he was working on, therefore I cannot help.
Jeanette Cline, widow
If you haven't checked out the cemetary listings at Rootsweb lately,
perhaps you should. I started to write them all down, but filled up over
five pages and that is too much for me to transcribe when you can just
go there. But, to save you time, here are the cemetaries with
Kline/Klein names: Andersontown Church of God, Monaghan twp, York Co.
(this one lists lots of family relatiponships too ), Filey's Christ
Church, same twp, Mount Olivet Cemetary, Hanover twp, York Co,

Hi, just joined the list and want to list my interest:
John CLINE b ca 1785, probably TN md 6 Dec 1812 Rhea Co TN Nancy VICORY dau
of Ozzie VICORY/VICKERY. John and Nancy moved to Carroll Co GA by 1830 and
to Randolph Co AL by 1850. Nancy probably died here before 1857 when John
married Martha "Patsy" PRUETT (sister of a daughter-in-law) in Talladega Co
AL. He was still living in 1866, but not found on 1870 census with Patsy,
so probably died before then.
John and Nancy had 10 children:
1.William CLINE md Patience KING
2.David C CLINE md Lucinda ROBINSON (and/or Serina JENNINGS-perhaps same
person) and Nancy WOODSTON/WOOTSON
3.Jessie CLINE md Nancy REYNOLDS]
4.John Jackson CLINE md Tibatha Olive PRUETT
5.Henry CLINE md Julia Ann TALLEY
6.Daniel Mercer CLINE md Lavina THOMPSON
7.Rebecca Margaret CLINE md William PARRISH and Peter TAYLOR
8.Washington CLINE md Mary M HARGETT
9.Peter Lewis CLINE md Matilda SMITH
10.Betsy CLINE died young.
The above may not be in order of birth (census records vary as to ages of
some).
Any information on any of these or their descendants is appreciated. Will
gladly exchange information. There are several descendants now working on
this line.

Dear list members,
I have recently tried out my Web page builder in Family Origins 7, and
have posted my genealogy at:
http://netnow.micron.net/~geoffrey/jett/jettweb.htm
I have a few Cline's in my line, and would appreciate any and all
feedback. Please email me to give me input, or just say HI.
I do want to add that the data I have posted contains mistakes. I would
appreciate it if you notice any mistakes, let me know, and I will try to
get them corrected as soon as I can. A little bit of data came from an
LDS Family History Center file, and although the FHC info is helpful, it
can sometimes bring in errors. I do appreciate their help, though.
If you are going to take my information and use it in your data, I will
be flattered, but please contact me to find out where I got the stuff.
Sometimes, I may even remember!!
I didn't have room on my server to add sources, or notes, but I may have
that
info here at home. I will be glad to share. Since I do not have the
time
to devote all my energy to genealogy (which I sometimes regret!!) I tend
to
rely on other sources too much without confirming every piece of data.
Good luck in researching, and if I can be of any assistance, let me
know.

Do you want information on all the Clines I know for sure about,

Hi all,
My name is Pamela Blankenship Honaker. I have been given the Cline surname
list to maintain. If you need to get in touch with me, you can do so at
pam_honaker(a)hotmail.com.
Of course every list has rules, and being subbed on other list I am sure you
know what they are:
***Do not send spam e-mail messages to mailing lists.
***Do not send attachments (attached files) of any sort to mailing lists.
This includes URL shortcuts, v-cards, GEDCOM files, zipped files, and any
other type of attachment.
<<If you want to share a file with someone it will need to be sent by
private e-mail, otherwise it will bounce and the only person seeing it will
be me.:)>>
***Do not forward virus hoaxes or chain letters to mailing lists.
***Do not use HTML or RTF (rich text format) in messages sent to mailing
lists.
***Do not cross-post messages to multiple mailing lists on the "To:" line or
the "Cc:" line of the e-mail message. <<This is hard on RootsWeb servers>>
***Do not send e-mail messages to mailing lists for which the topic is
inappropriate.
***Do not flame other members of the mailing list.
***Be nice to one another.
These are RootsWeb posted guidelines for mailing list.
__________________________________________________________________
This list is set up so that when you hit reply it will go to the list.
If any of the above rules are "violated", we are all human. Everybody makes
mistakes.
All that I ask is that personal e-mails are, that personal.
There is also a Cline GenConnect:
http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/c/l/CLINE/querieshttp://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/c/l/CLINE/bible_recordshttp://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/c/l/CLINE/biographieshttp://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/c/l/CLINE/deedshttp://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/c/l/CLINE/obituarieshttp://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/c/l/CLINE/pensionshttp://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/c/l/CLINE/wills
You can also access the boards from my webpage
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pamwvgen/index.html
Also, if anyone has a webpage pertaining to Cline research, I would
like to do a page like the Hatfield Central and Kennedy Central. This page
will be accessible from the GenConnect Boards.
Check it out and let me know if you have a page that you would like to be
listed.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pamwvgen/hatcent.html
Hope to hear from you all soon!!!

I am so sorry, everyone.
After battling an antique for some time we finally got a new computer, and I
am worn out from transferring files.
So I hit the send button before deleting the "cc's" I used as a shortut to
copy my address book. I guess you now know what my interests are ;)
Please forgive the unintentional mess I have made!
Happy holidays.

Mom and Dad:
Well this week has been busy. At work, I am training that new lobby
attendant who has the speech disability. I got my textbook quote sheet from
PCC for my classes; and I have to turn it into JobPath Friday afternoon.
Tonight I have a state-wide meeting of the AZ Interfaith Council. On
Saturday, I am attending a meeting of the AZ Rep. Women in which my friend,
Seth, is to receive an award, and then we are off to the AZYR banquet.
MU is 11-0 in football, and 3-0 in men's basketball. This Friday night is
the big MAC Championship Game with MU and W.Michigan soto determine who will
goto the Motor City Bowl.
I saw the chosen new quarter for VA. I had hoped for another design; but
with the 400 year anniversy of Jamestown coming up, it seems like a good
choice. I heard that there is a major archeological dig going on down there.
What have you heard about it?
My Christmas card to you should be in the mail soon.
John

John

Sorry to go to the Cline list, but, I can't get thru to Kathy Landauer.
I have a pic in front of me of Nancy Jane Gray and her six children by John
Epler. Nancy's mother was Sarah CLINE. The children are:
Mary May Epler b18Jan1878
Charles Edward Epler b20Jan1879
Bertha Leora Epler b5Jul1880
Archibald Epler b6Dec1881
Cora Belle Epler b3Jun1884
Daniel Elijah Epler b5Sep1886
Do you have any dates for Matthew Gray, Amy Enochs, Philip Cline and
Elizabeth Newman. How about parents for them??
I am interested in your Rebecca Murphy b1805. Did she live near Clemtown in
what is now Barbour Co, WV. These Murphys came from Culpepper and Fauquier
Cos of VA and lived near my Corder family. They went to church with the
Corders in Barbour Co, VA/WV in the 1820s.
Kathy, I hope you get this. I have sent you several messages....all
undeliverable.
Lyle Corder
Jennifer,
Thanks so much. The pics were great. Would you mind if I printed these
out for a friend with no internet connection and Davis relatives?

I have posted some pictures that were published in the Gilbert Times . There are several Clines listed in the pictures dated 1912 and 1920. These are really neat and I thought everyone would enjoy them .
