Am searching for the branch of Clines who moved from Ohio to Kentucky in the
mid-to-late 19th century and bore Alexander Cline, who married Rose Mays who
bore Everett Alexander Cline:
* born 25 Feb 1900 in Paris, KY (Bath Co.)
* died 11 Jun 1986 in St Joseph, MO
* farmed tobacco until age 74; steady pace kept him ahead of the
youngsters
* richest man in the county at one point, but drinking habit wasted it
all away
* had a stomach ulcer, but drank iodine once per day for a month,
following a family recipe, and was cured on day 30 as predicted
* married "Daisy" Della Parr, who stood 4'11" (Della Cline, b 22 Apr
1902, d Feb 1973, SSN 488-22-8033, ZIP 64484 (MO), Sierra software); there
are 14 Daisy Clines and 8 other Della Clines in the database
* bore 4 children, including James Everett
* SSN: 500-07-6307, ZIP of last residence: 64484 (MO)
Many thanks,

Catherine ? was born in OH ca 1818. She married an unknown CLINE. It is
uncertain if her husband died in OH, on the way to MO. She married Samuel
Keene in Mississippi Co., MO, on March 11, 1838. Catherine died ca 1880.
Children born to Catherine and her first husband Mr. CLINE in OH are:
Lucinda Cline
Charles Cline
Ira Cline
Aaron Cline
---------
Catherine's second husband was Samuel Keene was born in VA ca 1800 and died
July 10, 1872, Mississippi Co., MO.
The 1850 Mississippi Co., MO, census records list 6 children born to Samuel in
Ohio and brought to MO: Ann, Polly, Benjamin (b. 1825), Elisha (b. 1832),
Riley/Ruby (male b. 1834), and Volumna (b. 1836). Nothing is known about
Samuel's first wife.
Samuel and Catherine's children born MO: The census records list 6 children
born after Samuel and Catherine were married in 1838: Samuel Jr.(b. 1843),
Frances (b. 1847-8), Elyatta (b. 1855), Henry (b. 1859), Arbanna (b. 1865),
and Catherine (?).
--------------
It is uncertain whether Samuel and Catherine knew each other in OH, but the
coincidence of their former residence in OH suggests the families may have
known each other. Their families may have even come to Mississippi Co., MO,
together on a wagon train or by boat down the Ohio River until it converges at
Cairo, IL, into the Mississippi River. (Mississippi Co., MO is only seven
miles from Cairo.)
Thanks for your help.
This is a shot in the dark...looking for an "unknown" Cline.

Sorry to clutter the list with this...
Vickye -- My reply to you bounced. Wanted to let you know that I
couldn't find any connection to David Cline, Sarah Wells *or* Avery
Cline. I didn't find any reference to part of the family line being in
Mo. or Ga., either. In fact, Avery's birth year of 1875 seems out of
sink with when other Cline children of this line were being born. I
hope you have better luck in your research in the future!
Hello to the Cline list,

Henry CLINE, b: 12/1832 in Michigan his father was
Benjamin CLINE, b:? in ?.
I do have the names of the spouses, and some other information, so if
any of these people sounds familar let me know, and I will be happy to
fill in what I have.

information which states that information on Benjamin Bower and Ruth Ann

I am searching for a Levi Cline born 1835. I do not know who his parents
were. The earliest I have him is in Frankfort, IN. He lived in Indiana and
married Terra? They had 5 children; after her death he lived in Jasper Co.,
IL; had 8 more children and lived in IN and IL until his death in 1925. Can
you tell me anymore about his family. The time period is about right. I have
a lot of history on his descendants.
I have conflicting information that he was Scottish and Cherokee but
absolutely nothing substantiated.

site. Anyway, my Clines are as follows:
>
My Cline info starts in 1875 when Charles Cline (age 25) & Sarah Hoffman
(age 25) married in the St. Johns Dutch Reformed Church in St. Johnsville,
Montgomery Co., NY. Sarah was a Hoffman from the Cape May, NJ area.
By 1880, Charles & Sarah were in Clinton Twsp, Sac County, IA. They had a
daughter, Lillie. In 1885 they are in Center, Knox County, NE & have two
additional daughters, Mary and Viola, and a son, Frederick. My grandfather,
William was born in 1886. I found Frederick still in that area on the 1900
census, but none of the other family members. By 1910, Viola had married to
Lauriz (or Lollie) Henrickson (or Hendricks).
I have lost track of Charles & Sarah by 1900, where I have located my
grandfather, married to Bessie Brown, in Oliver County, ND. Then, family
history is that they were in Tacoma, WA where my grandfather, William, was
body guard for the Mayor of Tacoma (haven't checked that yet). By 1930 they
were in Portland, OR, where William was a detective & private eye until he
died in the late 1950s. Bessie died in the early 1950s.
>
>The only info I have on Charles' family is that his father was born in NY
(or PA as one census shows) & that his mother was born in NY. Am currently
trying to solve that puzzle!
If anyone recognizes this line, please get in touch with me. I have lots of
info to share from that line down.

Searching for ancestors/descendants of John "Lee" "Levi" CLINE b. about
1835 to unknown in unknown. He lived around Frankfort, Clinton Co., IN
at one time. His first wife's name was Terra? They had 5 children:
William "Bill" who moved to Kansas, John "Dutch" location unknown, and 3
daughters Phoebe, Ella and Dora. It is believed the daughters all
married and stayed in Indiana. After his first wife's death he made his
way to Rosehill/Hunt City, Jasper Co., IL where he married Lucinda
TURNER in 1882. She was the daughter of Christopher "Price" TURNER and
Arminta CUMMINS who migrated from Kentucky to Illinois in the 1840s.
John and Lucinda CLINE had 8 children: Charles "Louis", James, George
"Henry", Christopher "Criss" Columbus, Anna, Mary and Jeff and Minnie
who died as young children and are buried in Brooks Cemetery, Rosehill,
IL with their mother Lucinda and brother Charles). Lucinda died in 1906
in Jasper Co., IL. After her death the younger children were split up.
John Lee Cline eventually went back to Indiana and lived with a
daughter...possibly Phoebe for a time. He returned to Illinois in 1925
to visit his daughter Mary Harris in Casey, Clark Co., IL where he
died. He is buried in Macedonia Cemetery, Casey, Clark Co., IL in an
unmarked grave. Would appreciate any information on his ancestors or
descendants...especially the Indiana Cline family. There are
unsubstantiated rumors from family members that he came from Scotland,
was part Cherokee, or was born in Frankfort, IN. Would appreciate
assistance please.

Hi all,
I am looking for information on my great great grandfather, Gustav KLEIN. He
was married to Katherine Elizabeth BAUER ( it may be Elizabeth Katherine ).
They had 4 children. Carl KLEIN - died at the age of two. Carl KLEIN, my
great grandfather was born 14 March 1885 in Heilbronn, Wurtemburg, Germany.
Paul KLEIN and Pauline KLEIN. Gustav came to the United States before the
rest of the family and by the time the family did show up Gustav was already
dead and said to be buried somewhere in Minnesota. Katherine took the
children and went to live with family in Columbus, Ohio. My great grandfather
Carl married Irma BASFORD on 14 June 1914. If anyone has any information on
any of my KLEIN's I would love to hear from you. This has been my biggest
brick wall. Thanks in advance for all of your time and help.
