Oh Christi,
Before I get to the CLINE ancestry, I'll mention briefly after checking
out your site, that you're not alone. I had CFIDS before it was called CFS,
before it was called EBV, before they knew it existed, since January
3, 1975. Of course, I remember the exact date because of the sudden
flu-like onset that was longer than any heard of flu. January 2, 1975,
I was the picture of health, burning the candle at both ends, accomplishing
much. I was only 23. I've been a medical catastrophe ever since. And, of
course, the FMS and a hundred other things that destroy the quality of
our lives. I can commiserate with you. But, at least, this one thing you can
thankful for. Your onset, although at first misdiagnosed, was, at least, relatively
recently, when they already knew it existed. You've probably heard this: ( The doctor tells
the patient, " I've got good news and I have bad news, "The good news - You're not going to
die. The bad news - You're not going to die.") More on that off-list.
Now, this Adam CLINE of your's, I am very interested in. The family's
rendition of my grandfather Erma Reed CLINE, b. 11 Nov. 1878, Nebraska,
is that he was the son of Adam Cline, b. Ohio, 13 Apr 1851, who was the son
of Lewis CLINE, b. 1796, Germany. But, hold that thought.
I don't have any b. cert., d. cert. documentation, yet. But, I do have the
1880 Nebraska census record, which shows my Erma as the son of Adam
CLINE who was born in Ohio, whose father was born in VA.
So, I'd appreciate it, if you have any further information on this (Adam1),
and his immediate family. I'd love to hear about it. I, within the past six months, ran
across another woman with and Adam Cline in VA, with an Ohio
tie in. I think I found her message on a query board. We were not able to make a
connection, as neither of us really had enough information. I might be able to find our
correspondence that I probably saved to disk.
My mother claims that her father was Dutch, rather than German. I need
more documented history rather than the contradictory family tradition, and
something that can tie me in to the _______ CLINE of Virginia on the Census
Record. Also, I'm interested in knowing your family's tie in with Ohio.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Sandi Goetze, CA
