Dear Researchers,
The Northampton Co., PA census for 1890 is steadily going online
at http://www.enter.net/~ritar This does not contain all the
information available in a US Census, but does contain the names,
ages, and in some cases, occupations of everyone in the county.
In city areas street addresses are included.
In 1890 South Bethlehem, PA had a large Irish population, and the
county in general had many people of German descent. Still does.

======
Samuel Keene was born in VA ca 1800 and died July 10, 1872, Mississippi Co.,
MO. He is buried in the Keene Family Cemetery in Wyatt, MO, aged 72 years, 4
months.
The 1850 Mississippi Co., MO, census records list 6 children born to Samuel in
Ohio and brought to MO before he married widow, Mrs. Catherine Cline in
Mississippi Co., MO, on March 11, 1838: Ann, Polly, Benjamin (b. 1825), Elisha
(b. 1832), Riley/Ruby (male b. 1834), and Volumna (b. 1836). Nothing is known
about Samuel's first wife.
Catherine (maiden name unknown) Cline was born in OH ca 1818, according to the
census records. It is uncertain if her husband died in OH or in MO. According
to probate records, Catherine died ca 1880. Neither Sam nor Catherine appear
in the census records for 1880.
The census records list 6 children born after Samuel and Catherine were
married in 1838: Samuel Jr.(b. 1843), Frances (b. 1847-8), Elyatta (b. 1855),
Henry (b. 1859), Arbanna (b. 1865), and Catherine (?).
It is uncertain whether Samuel and Catherine knew each other in OH, but the
coincidence of their former residence in OH suggests the families may have
known each other. Their families may have even come to Miss. Co., MO,
together on a wagon train.
With Samuel and Catherine Keene are listed four children with the last name
"Cline" in the 1850 census for Miss. Co., but these same children are listed
as "Keenes" in all subsequent censuses. It is uncertain if there was any
formal adoption process. Actually, until this author researched the census
records, it was believed that Catherine was Samuel's one and only wife and
that her maiden name was Cline. Oral and what little exists in written history
of the Keene family either omits or is unaware that family lines that descend
through Lucinda, Charles, Ira and/or Aaron, actually contain no "Keene" blood:
they were actually Clines.
"Regarding a Samuel Cline (b: 1866 D:1908) Married 2nd of march 1892
to Lydia Mills - Father is Martin V. Cline (29 Apr 1844)"
I have information very similar - Benjamin Cline, born 1812, in North
Carolina and married July 25, 1826 to Rillie Bess in Cape Girardeau
County, MO and died February 20, 1864. They had four sons including:
Martin V. Cline, born 1839 in Stoddard County, MO. and married Sarah
Tanksley on March 7, 1872 and ied in 1888 in Stoddard County, MO. AND
Samuel M. T. Cline was born Abt.1854 in Stoddard County, MO, married
Nov. 1, 1874 to Lucretia E. Cofman, then Emaline Lewis was a 2nd wife.
This family is featured in Goodspeed's History of Southeast Missouri.
Hope it helps, Margaret
