Don--
Sorry I can't add any info to your inquiry. But, in my database I have
a Fritz Allen Dillon who m. Zenna Propst (born aft. 1882) sometime after
the turn of the century. She was the dau. of Jacob Alonzo Propst (b. 28
Jan 1860 Catawba Co., NC; d. 6 Feb 1920 Catawba Co., NC) and Nancy
Tallent (b. 19 Jan 1863 Catawba Co., NC; d. 16 Jun 1932 Catawba Co.,
NC). If you or any "Cline/Propst/Dillon Cousins" out there could shed
some light on my "Orphan" Fritz, I would appreciate it.

Our cline ancestors came from Polk co, ark and later moved to
Indian territory which was name atwood, hughes co, okla.
we also had relatives in sumner co, tn. prio to that would be nc, prior to
that PA
i have 14,000 in my data base.
Me are descendants of Moriz aka:Mauritalus Klein
Am in a real hurry at the moment, so i cant go into the breakdown of the
lineage.
If these places are familiar to you. i will send names later :)
Suzy724(a)aol.com
Hi Billie Floy,
I received your note today, but I don't think your ancestry is Sophia Cline
Quinn. I do sympathize with your "zilch on the Cline" line!!
I don't know your ancestry but can give you a hint to investigate. These
may be your folks!
The only Clines that I know who emigrated to Ft. Smith and on to Indian
Territory in OK are the Thomas A. Cline/Clyne from GA. as follows;
Cherokee Emigration Rolls, 1817 - 1835
transcribed by Jack D. Baker
p. 24
Oct. 11, 1829 - Thomas A. Cline, 5 in family & 1 slave, residence =
Hightower, GA,
p. 26
Oct. 28, 1831 - #25 Thomas Clyne, 1 white, 5 reds, 1 black, residence =
Tannoe Creek, GA
p. 41
Thomas Clyne, 3 males under 10, 1 male over 50, 1 female under 10, l female
under 25, l female slave
The Cherokee Land Lottery in GA was held in 1836; and, after selling off
Indian land to white bidders, Gov. Lumpkin sent in troops forcing the
Cherokees to emigrate -- in my opinion, the saddest blight on our US
history.
Billie, this is all I know, but I'm posting it on the rootsweb for all
Clines because someone may be able to help you. There now are so many
sites online where you can search Indian ancestry and place queries. Try
the tngenweb which has a new address as follows:
http://www.tngenweb.usit.com/queries/
GA has a similar site though I don't have the address now.
Best wishes from the TN foothills,
Sandra Ratledge
Happy New Year to all! Many thanks to my newly-found TX cousin, Don Cline,
for responding with info giving me my Klein/Cline ancestors living in
Germany! What a wonderful way to end 1997 finding so many relatives!
Many, many thanks, Cousin Don!
In turn, I want to begin 1998, trying to help descendants of Sophia Cline
Quinn, if there are any. Sophia "Sophie" Cline was born ca 1830-1833 in
Cabarrus CO, NC, dau. of Michael Cline and Susannah "Susan" Amburn Cline.
Sophia Cline Quinn cared for her aging and frail parents as long as she
lived. Though Sophia is only a very, very distant cousin of mine and I'm
not a descendant, I feel a special empathy toward her and fear that no one
now remembers her. If anyone is researching her line, you have your work
cut out for you indeed, the proverbial "hard row to hoe". Any descendants,
write and I'll be happy to help and glad to know that someone cares about
her.
From the TN foothills,
Sandra Ratledge
