Hi Don,
I don't know if anyone answered on your query or not. Hope so. This is
first chance I've had. It's the busiest season of the year.
I have Nancy Exema Cline b 27 Sep 1837 d 1921 married Michael Havis (unsure
of spelling). She was a daughter of Henry Cline and probably his 2nd wife.
Henry was m (1st) to Sally Boovey and (2nd) to Sarah Louise Bandy. Henry
was son of Michael Cline and Fanny Killian. Are these your ancestors?
I descend from older brother of this Michael Cline. My ancestor is
Christopher "Stopher" or "Stoffer" Cline and his wife, Margaret Ramsour.
This Michael and Christopher are sons of Sebastian Klein/Cline & Elizabeth
Beaver/Beiber. Sebastian is our immigrant ancestor. So, we are distant
cousins; I don't know what number to put in front of cousins though.
Christopher Cline and Margaret Ramsour had a son named David Cline, Sr.
from whom I descend. I think my ancestors, David Cline, Sr. and Mary A.
Conrad Cline, had the following children: Jesse- Abel Cline m. Adeline
Tucker, David Anthony Cline, Jr. (my ancestor) m. Edith "Edee" Caroline
Cochran, William Cline, Rudolph Cline, Doc (may have been just a nickname
for one of the others), Leonard Cline, George Cline, Linda (or Melinda)
Cline, and Sarah Cline who m. a ______ Wright.
Hope you've been successful in finding lots of cousins. I'm told there are
multitudes, but only a couple have answered my query. It seems to be a
quiet group.
From the TN foothills,
Sandra Ratledge
Hi Rooters
The announcement of the Cline Newsletter should have stated that I need
your Snail Mail address, since I am not ready to go on-line with it yet. Also,
many of the subscribers are not on the Internet. Sorry about the confusion.

Hello Folks:
Stoddard Co., MO will abstracts does list a will for Andrew Cline
and there are only three children listed on the will. If there are more they
may be in the estate settlement records or land division records. Charity m.
Henry Butts in Lincoln Co. 1821. The other two married into the Bess
(descendants of Sebastian in Lincoln co.) families in Cape Girardeau County, MO.
>
>Referring to querry on Mary & Andrew Cline, did they have a son Wm H b 1811?
>
Quite possibly... and if so, this child would most likely have been born in
Lincoln/Catawba county NC.... as they do not appear to have gone to MO
until about 1820...
The children I do have listed are...Benjamin, Christena, and Charity.....
but there is no certainty that I have anything even approaching a complete
list...
Andrew is buried in Stoddard County, MO..... so they definitely were
involved in the large German migration to Mo. from NC.... his death was
apparently ca 1843 so a will just might exist in Stoddard County that would
list his children...

Hello everybody,
My name is Bill Gates. I have just written up an e-mail
tracing program that traces everyone to whom this message is forwarded
to. I am experimenting with this and I need your help. Forward this to
everyone you know and if it reaches 1000 people everyone on the list will
receive $1000 at my expense. Enjoy.

In a message dated 97-11-29 09:30:43 EST, you write:
<< Although not in my lines of search, I can also attest to some confusion
about Perry Robert CLINE: in George W. Hahn's "The Catawba Soldier of the
Civil War" [published 1911 by Clay Printing Co., Hickory NC], we find a
photo and write-up of Patrick R. Cline with similar information that Linda
gave. Quoting from page 130, "Patrick R. Cline enlisted April 27, 1861, in
Co. A 12th N. C. Regiment. He served in the company up to the battle of
Malvern Hill, where he was wounded. He survived the war, came home and
engaged in the mercantile business. He died since. He was a loyal citizen
of Catawba." There is nothing mentioned about Cline's family.
In the lists of soldiers, Hahn gives no citation of Patrick R. or Perry R.
Cline enlisting. However, on page 105 under privates, Hahn states "Cline,
E. P. R., enlisted April 27, '61; died since the war." I have found errors
in this book before, and could easily believe that "Patrick" was in fact
"Perry"; also that "E. P. R." is "Perry". No other P. Cline is cited in the
book nor is any R. Cline cited as a member of Company A, 12th Regiment.
Hahn attempted to be conclusive about Confederate veterans from Catawba
County -- having cross-referenced Moore's History.
Hahn's book confirms that others in Company A were George W. Rabb, Elkanah
Moose, and John M. Arndt as Linda found in the widow's pension file. All
survived the war; Moose and Arndt were cited as later being farmers in
Catawba County; Rabb, who had lost a leg, took up shoemaking and
represented Catawba in the legislature 1910-1911.
So, if the widow's file was on the same P. R. Cline, how could he have died
before Geo. Hahn's book was published in 1911, but also stated to have died
in Texas in 1916? And if it isn't the same P. R. Cline, how did the widow
get confused about the exploits of Company A 12th Regiment? >>
I do not believe Patrick R Cline listed in The Catawba Soldier of the Civil
War is the same person as Perry Robert Cline. The book indicated that
Patrick stayed in Catawba Co. This Perry R from all indications went to
Missouri and Texas.
The fact that Perry R enlisted in Newton and was in Co. A, 12th NC Infantry
did not come from confusion on the widows part. Those facts, and his capture
and release, come from official War Department Records.
It is an interesting set of papers. Also mentioned are daughters, Helen Cline
and Verna (Cline) Bandy, and a son-in-law, Fred Neaves
Next time I go to the archives I will try to check the 1850 census and see if
I can find Perry R listed with any family.
Does anyone know if Texas kept death records in 1916?
Linda McCarthy
Hi, searching, as is everyone nowdays, for Lodwick Cline, b. 1785 in
Penn. or N.Y., d. 1854 in Young Hickory Twp. Fulton Co., ILL. He was
married to his second cousin, Margaret Cline, b. Nov 11, 1788, New
Hurley, Ulster Co., N.Y., she died about 1856 in Hickory Twp. Fulton
Co., Ill. They were the parents of Henry Cline, b. July 23, 1814, New
Moon Twp, Beaver Co., Penn, d. march 16, 1907 in Stafford City, Kansas.
He married Isabella King in Stafford, Ks and were the parents of Nina
Caroline Cline that married to Samuel W. Welch, June 14, 1883 in St.
John, KS. Then Leroy Dacre Welch, their son was married to Mable Rose
Alexander, my grandparents, in Kansas. Then came along my mother,
Blanche Golden Welch, 1908, then Me.
Does any of this ring a bell with anyone? We have quite a bit on
Margarets family and know that Lodwick was her cousin, but know nothing
about his family or where they came from.
Would sure appreciate any help we could get.
Thanks, Narda
