They were all daughters of Philip Kleinert (son of Hans Cliner) of the 1802
will
1. Philip CLINARD, SR. (KLEINERT) was born est 1725. He died est 1802.
He was married to Catherine UNKNOWN. Philip CLINARD, SR. (KLEINERT) and
Catherine UNKNOWN had the following children:
+2 i. Jacob CLINARD (born between 1750 and 1754).
+3 ii. Phoebe CLINARD (born in 1755).
+4 iii. Anna Maria CLINARD (KLEINERT) (born in 1757).
5 iv. Philip CLINARD JR., (KLEINERT) was born in 1759 in
Weissenberg, Lehigh Co., PA.
+6 v. Daniel CLINARD, SR. (born in 1761).
+7 vi. Peter CLINARD (born est 1763).
+8 vii. Katherine CLINARD (KLEINERT) (born on February 16,
1765).
+9 viii. Henry CLINARD (CLYNARD) (born between 1765 and 1769).
+10 ix. Lorenz (Lawrence) CLINARD (KLEINERT) (born on
March 15, 1769).
Thank you, Kate, for your response - meant to cc my reply also to the
Clinard list, and, of course, hit the send button too soon, so I will
restate it here.
I am still unclear just where Davis Clinard fits in. Kate shows him a son
of a Jacob Clinard - is this Jacob a grandson of Jacob Clinard, son of
Phillip and Caty, via Jacob's son Phillip (do I have myself and you all
confused enough yet?!!). Obviously from my outline tree reproduced below,
I still have lots of work to do on this line. I have much more info on the
Horney, Mock lines as relating to Phebe, my connection with the Clinards,
but am just starting work on her parents and siblings. I will reproduce my
outline tree for Philip and Caty's line. I would appreciate any
corrections and/or additions. I have been told that Philip's father's name
was Jacob and mother was Katherine Deck, but I have not verified this. I
have noted postings from David Clinard on Rowan Co list in 1999 and Clinard
list in 2001, I believe, where he shared his findings re. chronological
events in the early Clinards in various PA and NC records. If you are
still a member of this list, thank you so much, David, for sharing your
many findings with us. Just wish I were in a position to do some hands-on
research, but not at this time, it appears, and definitely not much in the
way of US resources here on the west coast of Canada....now if I just had
English roots I would be in more luck here!!
Thanks,
Diane McInnes

Rick,
Thank you so much for posting the Rowan County, NC Tax Lists. I am a
descendant of the Clinard-Mock line (Phoebe Clinard-Devault Mock). I don't
have a Davis Clinard in my database, nor any Peggs/Phillips that connect
into the Clinards. Could you enlighten me as to where Davis fits in?
I was in Rowan County, NC a few years ago - what a beautiful spot! I
transcribed some land entries for the Clinards there (also Mocks, if anyone
is interested in those), and will post them in a separate posting.

On Jan. 30, 1732, the proprietaries of the province of Pennsylvania granted
Casper WISTER a patent for 633 acres of land lying in Philadelphia county.
By the subsequent subdivision of Philadelphia county the larger portion of
this tract of land was brought within the confines of Maxatawny township,
Berks county, close by the borders of Lehigh. In October, 1734, Casper
WISTER and his wife Catharine conveyed 123 acres of this land to one Jost
Henry Sasamon- housen, "Blacksmith," who on March 5, 1761, in confirmation
of his title to the same, obtained a patent deed for it from the
proprietaries, John and Thomas Penn. On Dec. 2, 1761, Jost Henry
Sasamonhousen and his wife Petronilla conveyed the same to Henry
Sasamonhousen, one of their sons.
