Is the name John commonly used for someone named Jonathan? Does anybody know
if this person was the same as John Clinard who married Mary "Polly" Cameron
on 4/25/1819 in Davidson Co, TN? I do not think that it is, but I could be
wrong. I believe the John Clinard who married Mary Polly Cameron was born
in NC and may have died in NC in 1849. I also believe that Mary Polly
Cameron died in 1848.
Same census:

I'm trying to find a place in my files for both families.

According to my records, this Henry was the son of Charles Sr. and Sarah
Idol Clinard of Rowan/Forsyth Co, NC. He was buried at Union Ridge
Methodist Cemetery, in Forsyth Co, NC.
My question is - what was his connection to Georgia? Reference above is
made to Greene County. There is a county by that name in both GA and NC.
The one in GA is next to Morgan County, where Henry Clinard's uncle, John
Clinard lived. (John, who died in 1827, was the son of Peter Clinard and
Sophia Sosamon Clinard). Was the "claimed residence in Greene County"
referring to Greene County, North Carolina or Greene County, Georgia?
This regiment was made up of mostly NC companies with a few GA companies and
was later known as the NC 16th Cavalry Battalion I believe. Everything that
I've checked on this Henry Clinard suggests that he was NC "born, married
and died" except for the above classification connecting him to Georgia.
The 1830 Rob. Co, TN census counted a male aged 80/90 in Joseph's household.
Joseph I suppose was the male aged 30/40 at this enumeration. The record
below occurred prior to this census, so the elder male probably was not the
Philip below. But a check of all Philips in my files resulted only in one,
Philip Kleinert, Jr., that was a close match to the Philip below. Philip
Kleinert, Jr, born 3/12/1759, which is a little younger than the census
record, but of course, the Philip below could have been a younger relative
of Joseph's just as well.
Interesting though, in looking at page 389 (microfilm page #?) of the 1830
census, Joseph Clinard resided next to Lawrence Clinard (age 60/70), and
then next was an Andrew Clinard (age 20/30). Then next was a Benjamin Rawls,
whose name also appears below.

*** This Margaret MOCK was the daughter of Philip MOCK and Anna Marie CLINARD
Did everyone notice the contradictions in the birth, marriage & death dates
for Alexander Rosenbaum and Charaty Gertrude (Henry Clynard's in-laws) in
this family record? They were married before they were born. Charaty died
"after 1765", but daughter Mary was born about 1770.
Wonder if this Henry was originally from the Lancaster Co, PA area too?
Possibly the son of Philip (1802 will)? I thought Philip's son, Henry, went
to Davidson Co, TN in early 1800s. And the two marriages; a little strange
both by their close dates and the two locations. Wonder what happened to
this John Hinkle?

Copied from a book on Tennessee marriages:
Robert CLINARD married Georgia Ann KNIGHT 1/9/1877 in Tennessee.
The county abbreviation was Ce. Which county was that?
Sorry, I didn't copy the title of the book, just the Clinard pages.
Maybe this Clinard family migrated from TN to AL?
Rick
