I don't have any records on a Juda Clifton, but I do recall that between
about 1790 and 1820 there was Juhu Clifton in one of the north Kentucky
counties (maybe Fleming or Mason?). It was written almost illegibly, so
it might have been Juda??? You might want to see if there is any
possible connection. David Clifton

Subject: [CLIFTON-L] Juda Clifton and John Van Buskirk
I am trying to find out if this couple had a son named William Van
Buskirk
born about 1821. Juda and John were married in 1809 in Ross Co
OH. Supposedly they both died about 1838 in Indiana. William Van
Buskirk
and Morris Van Buskirk were in Appanoose Co IA by 1850. I suspect they
were brothers, but I have not proved that yet. They both named their
first
son, John. Do any Clifton researchers know of Juda?

I am descended from Thomas Nathan Clifton, born 26 December 1758 in Wake County North Carolinia, migrated to Lawrence County Tennessee about 1820, moved with most of his large family to Webster County Missouri about 1838, where he died 8 March 1864.
Most give Nathan as the son of Absalom Clifton and Narcissis Nancy Jane Marmaduke. However, some have him as the son of Benjamin Franklin Clifton and the grandson of Absalom. A few say that his father was Ezekiel, the son of Absalom.
I seek proof as to the real parents of Thomas Nathan Clifton. Any information will be appreciated.
Jim Thomas.
