Ann Clifton....I am searching for the parents of my great-grandmother Ann
Clifton , born around 1790-1794 and married Jasper Crain .They died in
Williamson County ,Illinois, after having move from Tenn. in 1816, their son
Winfrey Lewis was born around 1811 in Tenn. and served in the Black Hawk
Indian Wars,in 1832. The Crain family moved from North Carolina , after
having lived there from about 1778-1792. They were in Surrey Co. in 1777,
Rowan in 1768, and Granville Co, before moving from from Vieginia , where
Jasper was born in 1766. So I beleive , that Ann , sometimes listed as Mary
, may have been Mary Ann ??, to have been born in North Carolina ,Tenn, or
possibly Va.. Does anyone have a listing of site URLs , that have
information on our Clifton ancestors? Any help, anyone, can give me, in my
quest, will be greatly appreciated, and very well received. May God Bless
All, Charles.
