Camai to all,
My decendents on my mother's side are Cliftons-my grandmother was born-25
Aug 1870 in Mendota, La Salle, Illinois. Her Father was born-6 sep 1840 in
Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada-married1867-died 29 Jun 1925-his father
Arthur Jr. Clifton was from Ireland and his father Arthur Clfton Sr. is
said to have come from Ireland.
I have been able to locate in Toronto, Canada where they lived before
coming to the USA. There the trail goes dead.
I would deeply appreciate any info on these Cliftons.
Thank you.

<<I'm researching my Clifton family's original immigrant ancestor, Thomas
Clifton (ca. 1610-1655 , who came from England to Virginia on The Primrose in
1635. Does any one here on the list have info to share on where in England
(Nottinghamshire?) this fellow is from?>>
Cathy I hate to do this but this Thomas that came on the Primrose died
without issue. I have documented proof, and I at one time thought this was
my Thomas. Give me some details on the Clifton's your are researching and I
may be able to help you find your family connection.

Hello! As a newcomer to the list, I'll post that I'm looking for info re
H.B.CLIFTON and his wife LILLIAN HEATON.
The first record I've found puts them in Savanna, Carroll Co., IL in
June 1924.
Does someone have access to a 1920 census to see if they are there at
that time?
Does the census indicate how long they've been maried?
ANY data you might be able to share re this couple will be a big help
(hopefully) in gaining a chink in a "brickwall"!
THANKS!
