RobinJM(a)aol.com. Please do not write to me I do not know this family only
doing this as a favor. Barbara

I am helping my friend find her birthparents. She was born on OCTOBER 10,
1967 in L.A. General Hospital. The name given to her at her birth was MARY
RLIZABETH CLIFTON. Her fathers name was M.R. CLIFTON. He was 22 at the time
of her birth so he would be around 52 or 53 by now. Her birthmothers last
name was FISHER.

Glenna and Sollie my cousins in Owenton, KY just made a trip to Clifton Hill,
MO and I just received the pictures, these are just photo copies she will make
copies of the original for me later. She sent me a pix of the following
head stones:
Rev. D. B. (Daniel Boone) Clifton 1841 - 1918 & wife Mary Kinman 1839-1916,
Olla D. Clifton (daughter of D & M. Clifton 1846-1889, Catherine J Clifton
1846/1937, Minor Clifton 1844/1902 & Fannie Clifton 1868 "baby" (this is
Sheryl's direct line that moved from Owen Co.)
Colby Hammon stone (my direct line that moved from Owen Co.)
Hugh S Clifton 1877-1937 next to Annie Clifton
Clifton Hill Cemetery (it's flat just like Houston) and some of the general
area including Clifton Hill City Hall (very small building) and Clifton Hill
Baptist church. For those of you who do not know the history of Clifton Hill
Missouri, it was named for David & Frankie (Cobb) Clifton Jr, son of David and
Easter Clifton. He moved his family from Lusby Mill, Owen Co., KY after 1850.
I will post these on my web page when I get the color copies will up date you
when it's ready. Also would like to take the opportunity to invite any of you
who might have ties to Owen Co., KY to join our new KYOWEN-L mailing list for

Hi Cousins,
This (at the bottom) is part of a recent post to this list.
The "Lucy," mentioned here (I feel certain) is Lewsy
HONECUTT as per this marriage bond:
CLIFTON, David mb to HONECUTT, Lewsy County: 099
6 Apr 1785 Bondsman: John SWANSON Wit: J Lane
Other SWANSON names appear to be linked in Wake
County, NC. I am still searching for Samuel CLIFTON's
parents, but feel certain that they are among these NC
CLIFTON's. In 1820 we have in Lincoln Co., NC:
Clifton, David..000100 * 10100......Linc 350 (another one)
Clifton, Lucy...000200 * 00201.......Linc 354 (wid. of David)
Clifton, William..300010 * 10100.....Linc 354
Clifton, James.110101 * 01120......Linc 356
Clifton, James Jr..100010 * 10010..Linc 356
In 1800 we have in Lincoln Co., NC
CLIFTON, David 3m under 10, 1m 10-16, 1m 26-45;
2 f under 10, 2f 10-16, 1f 26-45
CLIFTON, James 1m under 10, 1m 26-45;
4f under 10, 1f 10-16, 1f 26-45
Since David and James are the only CLIFTON HH
listed, it would seem one of them would be a likely
suspect (as Sam's father). But what if Samuel
(b: 1793) was born in Wake county to William Clifton
and William later moved to Lincoln County?
Would love some input!
Any of you located in Perry County have access to
death, obit or cemetery records? It sure would
be nice to know if James or William died in Perry
County or if they had any probate or estate record.
There was a James CLIFTON who owned land in
Perry County... Anyone know who Amy CLIFTON
of the same time period is? BTW: There may be
another (this would be #1, making 4!) marriages
for our Samuel:
CLIFTON, Samuel mb to SWANSON, Betsy
104 Wilkes County, NC
15 Jan 1816 Bondsman: James GRAY Wit: W W Martin
