HI:
I am researching Joanna Berry of Mason County, KY. She married Thomas Berry and was the mother of Thomas Jefferson Berry. She was the daughter of Benjamin Clift of King George Co. VA. He moved to Mason County around 1800, I believe.
I am having trouble finding the correct Joanna -- I have a Joanna who married Thomas Berry in Fayette Co., KY. I have a Joanna named in Benjamin Clift's will who married a different man (unrelated to her but also mentioned in her father's will), not a Thomas Berry.
A Joanna Berry freed my ancestor, Seymour Pryor, in 1838 in Mason Co. There is a slave named "Seemore" named in Benjamin's will.
Do you know whether the Joanna who married Thomas Berry in Fayette Co. is the same one who freed my ancestor in 1838?
I think this is the correct question.
Also: I have read that Glenn Clift's book had many errors and shouldn't be relied upon for that reason. Is this also true?
Thank you.
Kberry

Greetings Clift Relatives.......I just happened upon your posts of many years ago. I am in possession of Glenn Clift's Genealogy of the Clift Family. Glenn was my uncle - my mother's (Judy Clift Caproni) brother. First off - YES, Thelma Clift was part of the Clift Family in Cincinnati. She is in the Clift Genealogy Book. She and my mother were good friends as she often visited us in Maysville. If I can be of any help putting your "tree" together please don't hesitate to contact me (maysville(a)aol.com). Best regards, Dottie Caproni
