I'm researching JOANNA (CLIFT) BERRY, wife of THOMAS BERRY of Mason Co., KY.
Has anyone on the list researched her in detail? Her brother, NEWTON CLIFT,

Yes...we have to be related since I see familiar names in one of the posts. My father was named "Henry" and one of his cousin's was name "Horace". This will be interesting.

I have to be a part of this Clift branch because my father was named "Henry" (his mother was Agnes Clift) and he had a first counsin named Horace.

None of those names sound familiar to me, but that does not mean a thing. Is there a Thelma in the Cincinnati bunch? I think I remember that there was a relative Clift in Cincinnati who wrote crossword puzzles.
My paternal grandmother was Agnes Clift and her brother was Charles Clift. Charlies was Glenn's father. My counsin Jim, has his uncle Glenn's papers and he is working on the family tree where Glenn left off.
If you want to email me off line...my email is aclift(a)kih.net.

My Clift family moved to Cincinnati I believe because Charlton Beaty Clift's wife inherited very nice property from her father when he died. At least the census shows them living at the address of the property given in the will. Charlton's sister Mary Frances Clift also lived in Cincinnati when she married a resident there named Fisher.
My family are Robert Lee Clift - his father Charlton Cift - his father Alfred Clift (sometimes recorded as Alford) his father - Newton Clift, his father - Benjamin Clift, who was born in Virginia.
Charlton's sister, Mary Frances was married again after Mr. Fisher passed away and I have never been able to find out if she had any children or not. I have read Glenn Clift's books and think there are some errors in the Cift line. If you think we have a connection I would be interested in exchanging information with you.

Thank you for your info. but the Myrtle Durbin I was looking for was born in ca 1878 KS and by 1933 she was married to Joseph Franklin Hollingsworth. HE was my grandfather and myrtle was one of his other marriages. We loved her so much that we would like to find out what her father's first name was. All we know is Durbin and that she had a sister, Dolly/Dollie. If this can help you in any way, good luck.

There are two Clift families in Mason County. I know that we had Clift relatives in Cincinnati. Have you read Glenn Clift's books. He wrote several history books.
