Do you know if your husband's Clift left for Chile from the USA or from somewhere else? I am researching my Clifts and know that prior to Maysville KY they lived in Virginia. The records thin out as i go back in time but I am planning to go to Virginia in the spring and see what I can find.
My name was Clift but I am married to a man from Mexico City and have a Spanish surname now.

Patricia, thanks so much for the reply.
The Clift family I'm related to is from S.W. Va,, but are very hard to track from there (late 1800's on.)
Evidently they either left the area, or moved to quite a remote area? Would appreciate any information you may have on your husband's family lineage.
Again, thank your very much for the reply.
Truman
