I am searching for parents/family of Samuel Clift, born C1793 in Oldbury, Warwick/Staffs, with father William. Mother's name unknown. Samuel was transported to Australia in 1818 aboard the "Neptune 1".
Nothing is known of his origins, except that he was a 'waterman', and was convicted at Northampton Assizes in July 1817 for "knowingly having forged a one pound note", and sentenced to 14 years in the Colony.
His children's name's are: Elizabeth, William, Joseph, Ann, James, Mary Ann, Samuel, John, Sarah Elizabeth M, and George.
I would appreciate any leads on these people. Thank you.

I am looking for information on James Henry Clift who married Sarah Wingo on 11-07-1885 in Alcorn County in Mississippi. She was the daughter of Seth Jackson Wingo and Amy or Amey Prince. I have tons of info on Sarah Wingo but none on James Clift. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks Ila Ward
