I'm trying to find details about my greatgrandfather Joseph Charles Clift who was born at Broad Hinton in 1851 the son of Charles Clift and Isabella Mary Townsend. In 1877 he was living at Cobden Place, Uxbridge and gives his wife's name as Emily Kate Clift formerly Nalder on my grandfather's birth certificate. I am particularly interested in finding information about Emily Kate as I cannot find any record of her birth under the name of Nalder nor can I find any record of her death under the name of Clift. Intriguing eh? Any help or leads no matter how small would be much appreciated.

Hi, I am looking for any information of the following Clifts:
Clift, Joshua b Abt 1820 Mildon Hall, Suffolk England , May Ann ? b. abt 1823 in Welma Cambridge.
Children:
Clift, Joseph abt 1842 in Littleport Cambridge.
Clift, Alfred b abt 1844 Mildon Hall, Suffolk.
After emigrating to Australia on the David McIvor in 1853 (Records state he was a methodist, could read and write and was a railway labourer) they had the following children:
Clift, Martha A, Joshua, David, Mary A, Sarah A, Margaret, Alice, Ruth A, Joshua. (This leads me to believe 1st Joshua must have died or they called one by their second name)
Any information would be appreciated or if someone could look info up I would be happy to do the same in Australia.
Thanks
Kerry
