Hi Listers,
I am new to this list and am seeking advice on what I have found on my
Clifford ancestors.
I have long known and have confidence that Patience Prescott married Daniel
Beede in Rockingham Co. New Hampshire in 1749/50. I have the parents of
Patience as Joshua Prescott who married Sarah Clifford in 1710. Next I
recently looked for Sarah Cliffords ancestors and found her parents to be
Israel Clifford (1647-aft 1733) and Ann Smith ( 1662/1663-bef 1733), both of
Rockingham Co. NH. Israel Cliffords parents may be John Clifford (abt
1614-1694) and Sarah unknown. And lastly I found John's father to be
George Clifford born about 1588 in England and being buried at York Minster,
York England.
Does this seem to be sound genealogy of the Clifford line? Do you have any
corrections?
If this is correct, is George really buried at York Minster?
Besides Daniel Beede, were any of these folks Quakers?
Thank you so much for any insights.

My ggrandfather was Emery CLIFFORD, b 21 Oct 1832, Collins, NY, d 23 Feb 1896 Wheaton, IL. Emery was the 7th of 11 children of John CLIFFORD and Nancy RAY. John was born abt 1790, probably in NH or VT close to the Canadian border, as Nancy was from Canada, dates unknown. John is reputed to be the son of Anthony. While I have a great deal of infirmation on Emery and his descendants, everything before him is mush. There is an Anthony CLIFFORD b 13 Oct 1743, Kingston, Rockingham Cty, NH, son of William CLIFFORD and Sarah TOWLE, a logical possibility, but no clear tie. If this could be proven, I have clues to take it back to the Norman Conquest. Any help out there? Jim
