73 Cliffords were listed in the 1850 OH Census Index
I have added the info regarding age, occupation, birthplace after looking at the microfilm.
Most of these Lorain County, OH Cliffords are included in the LDS Site.
Three Clifford were rejected on the Guin Miller Eastern Cherokee
descendant Roll. They were Geo. T (MS)., Georgetta (IN), and william
(LA). I don't know how many were on the accepted roll.
There has been a recent study done on the Miller Roll that provides
insights into the roll, criteria for acceptance, how the roll was done,
etc. The table of contents of the study is at

Interestingly, this site also has the 1835 Cherokee census posted within
a "Cherokee genealogy tutorial" you can read on-line, some indexes to
Cherokee genealogy books, and other Indian genealogical research sources,
some of which I have seen nowhere else - quite fascinating.

Greetings,
Would appreciate some help with the New England Clifford lines.
1) Did George born in England circa 1590 have children other than John, Sr. (1614-1694)?
2) Is John Sr. accepted as George's son or is this still in dispute?
3) Does John Clifford m. Hannah Sherman of RI connect to John Sr.?
4) What counties in OH did some of the RI Clifford lines migrate to?
I've found a bunch of Cliffords in Lorain, OH whose birthplaces were in New England states.
5) What counties in KY did these lines migrate to?
There were Cliffords in the 1790 KY census in Mason County (John Clifford) & Fayette County (Michael Clifford). By 1800, there were Cliffords in Fleming County (John Clifford) and Harrison County (Edward Clifford) . Michael Clifford was in Woodford County; Thomas Clifford and John Clifford were in Fayette County. I understand that the Cliffords in Harrison County, KY trace back to VA and that the Cliffords of Woodford County trace back to Michael, Sr. of Rowan County, NC who came to America circa 1750.
6) Was there a reason for branches of these New England lines migrating to IL?
Trying to connect Clifford lines found in OH, KY, IL, VA (1800 - 1850) to earlier Clifford lines.
Thank you for your help.
Rose
