Does anyone have a Clifford line in New Hampshire. I am trying to find
the parents of my ggmother Lavinia (Lavina) Clifford who married Micheal
Simmons. I just recently found her so have no information as to her
father's name. The dates of interest would be 1825 to 1850. Thanks for
any assistance you can give.

Good day to everyone!
I have recently discovered that the John Clifford I am researching was born on April 1, 1834...I located his gravesite at the Victoria Presbyterian cemetery in Balmoral, Manitoba, where he, his wife and several children/grandchildren are buried. John married Elizabeth prior to moving to Manitoba and had five children born in Ontario - four more were born after he relocated. John came to Manitoba from Ingersoll, Ontario in 1875 - I am trying to determine the maiden name of his wife, Elizabeth Clifford, as I have recently been in touch with several really nice people who have a John Clifford, born the same year, in their family tree and I would love to find out whether this is the same fellow! Unsure where to start with regard to birth/death/marriage records and any tips/info anyone has would be a great help and deeply appreciated.
Regards,
Shannon
I have an Emery Clifford, b 21 Oct 1832, Collins, NY 7th of
eleven otherwise unknown children of John Clifford and Nancy
Ray (b Canada). Emery m Mary Jane Osgood in VT 9 Feb 1856.
May be a tie there somewhere. Jim

Good morning,
I am researching my family history and unfortunately have hit a dead end. My great-great-grandfather, John Clifford, relocated to the RM of Rockwood, Manitoba (Balmoral, near the capital city of Winnipeg) in 1875; he moved to this area from Ingersoll, Ontario. In 1879, his wife Elizabeth and their five children came to join John. I believe John and Elizabeth had four more children after they moved to Manitoba; Sarah married Alexander McBain and moved to Clandeboye, Manitoba, Elizabeth married John Berry, and they remained in the Stonewall district. Mary Ann married Fred Markland and they moved to Vancouver, B.C., Emma married Freeman Jordan of Roland, Manitoba, Robert served overseas in WWI and returned to farm near Grandview, Manitoba, John Jr. took over the framing operations on the homestead and married Isabelle Burnett, and william remained on the original land and married Annie Burge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burge from England, in 1898. While I have been able to dig!
up some information on more recent decendants, I have been unable to determine when and where John Clifford was born.
Any information or guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am also attempting to find out information regarding Charles Hancock. He married John Clifford's daughter Ellen (Nellie) in 1885; their's was the first wedding held in the new Methodist Church (now the United Church) at Balmoral. Charles and Ellen had one son that I know of - my grandfather, Allan. Allan died on August 19, 1942 at the Battle of Dieppe during the Second World War.
Thanks very much,
