My mother was born Rita Rodwell Cliff in Grimsby, England which is near Hull. Her mother was Mary (Hill) Cliff and I believe her husband was Albert Cliff. Also, I believe that Albert was a policeman. My mother (Rita) moved to Youngstown, Ohio USA in 1947 and married my father Robert E. Barber. Don't know if this helps. Cliff S. Barber and I can be reached at cbarber(a)woh.rr.com.
