As far as I know, we don't have a Harte nor a Sarah among our Cliff relatives, so no connection that I can see. Thanks for sharing your information with me though.

We recently found an "extraction record" (which means it was typed from a record which was microfilmed by the Mormon Church). It was the record of the christening of HORATIO WALKINTON CLIFF on 26 Jan. 1818 in TUXFORD, NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND. His parents' names were given as THOMAS CLIFF and MARY. I would like to verify that there is actually a record to this effect in Tuxford. And, of course, I would be delighted with any earlier information about his family. Alas, I live near Houston, Texas, so can't get there to see for myself. HORATIO is my GGgrandfather. I found him in the 1860 Federal Census of Painesville Village, Lake County, Ohio. HORATIO was a 42 year old carpenter (1818 is right for a birth date!) with a wife named MARY, 9 children and an older lady named MARY FONDON. tHE 3 adults were born in England, 8 children were born in Canada and 1 in Painesville, Ohio. We wonder if MARY FONDON might have been his mother-in-law. Perhaps they all emigrated to Canda tog!
ether after their marriage. Or maybe they met in Canada. I would be glad to correspond with anyone with an interest in this family.
