My mother Beatrice Cliff, deceased, married to William S. Cliff, also deceased, was born in Steubenville, Ohio. Amazing how roots seem to "reclaim" similar names of past ancestors. I don't think there is a connection here, but keep posted..

DEAR LISA,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INQUIRY.
MY GRANDFATHER SAMUEL A. CLIFF HAD THREE SISTERS; (NAMES UNKNOWN) ONE MARRIED A FARMER IN ILLINOIS THE SECOND MARRIED AN EDUCATOR OF SOME KIND AND MOVED TO FT. COLLINS COLORADO, THE THIRD SISTER DIED FROM A SPIDER BITE. SO SAYS A LETTER FROM MY GT.AUNT WRITTEN SOME 30 YEARS AGO.
I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION YOU MIGHT HAVE ON CLIFF'S IN COLORADO. I BELIEVE THE TIME FRAME FOR THE MARRIAGE OF THE SISTERS WOULD BE EARLIER THAN 1900, MORE LIKE 1880'S.
THANK YOU FOR CONTACT.
SAM

His father was Walter Cliff (a bootmaker), lived at 2 Pontefract Grove, Leeds.
His mother was Louise Dufton, also lived at 2 Pontefract Grove, Leeds.
Alberts addresses: 4 Wingham Terrace, Roundhey Rd, Leeds.
31 Victoria Rd, Eastend Park, Leeds.

25 Lightbown Ave, Blackpool.

Served in 1st Battalion Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
