Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks so very much. Roy

Rootswebs mailings are so very numerous that many isp's will see it as spam.
I have had to, on multiple occasions, tell bellsouth over and over again
that rootsweb was not spam. I went thru any number of processes and
proceedures. Its often that we 'rootswebbers' have to light a fire under
the feet of our isp's so they'll take the needed steps that will guarantee
safe arrival of your email

AWESOME!!
Roy, what is your family line?
I am also wondering why the messages from the Click list don't say they are
from the list in the subject line like other Roots listserves. If the
subject line isn't from RootsWeb it can occasionally end up in the spam
folder. Maybe this is just a problem for me and my spam settings....

Dear Joyce,
I hope that the Click list doesn't end!! And I want to thank you for your
time spent managing the list!
I admit that I haven't posted information regularly on the list but it
doesn't mean that I don't want the list to continue! I just haven't found
anyone else researching my same line.
I descend from Johannes Glück of Shenandoah, Virginia. My line goes:
Johannes Glück VA > John Click, Jr. VA > John Click III VA > John Click IV
VA and IN > Jonathan Click MO > Quincy Click MO and ID > Robert Click ID and
BC Canada. Does anyone else descend from any of these men?
Are the Click's just not chatty or are there other active list serves for
Click's on any of the other web sites?
Regards,
Robin Click Poeschek

Hi Jean!
Oh this is great to have a Click message!!!
None of my John Click's was in Washington County in that time period BUT I
have run into several John Click's in records that I just can't place and
maybe the records are of this Washington County John.
For example, I have an Augusta County court record that lists a John Click
who died prior to 1783. He had a widow named Mary. Now Johannes Glück had a
wife named Mary BUT I also have a marriage record of a John Click marrying
Mary Kingery in 1799. It is thought (written in books) that it is my John
Click who married Mary Kingery - and if that is so then who is the other
John Click and Mary? I found the court record on ancestry it is in the Scots
- Irish in Virginia book, Vol. 2.
John Click, Jr and John III both lived in Rockingham County.
John IV lived in Botetourt County in 1845 - 1860. He lived near Fincastle.
There were other Click's in Botetourt earlier than John IV -for example, a
Henry Cluck was there in 1793.
I have a copy of the index to the book "Abstracts of the Wills and
Inventories of Bath County, Virginia, 1791 - 1842" and there are 29 entries
for John Cleek (Click)! And I doubt that they are all entries for the same
man. So some of these John Click's must have moved around!! Or am I assuming
that because mine moved so much? :-)
Have you checked wills or land records in Washington County?
Good to hear from you Jean!!
Robin

Robin,
Would one of your John Click's be one who had a land grant in Washington
Co., Va in the late 1700s?
There really is no other list - I guess most of the Click/Cleek lines just
are searching.
My line: Michael Cleek (VA-TN), Joseph and William Cleek (TN), Shadrach and
Amanda Cleek (TN), Mattie Davis Cleek Vaughn. Believed but not proved that
Michael descended from Michael Click (Va/Hawkins Co., TN) but I believe
there may be another generation and possibly descended from John Click
Washington Co., Va.

Been away from family research for awhile now, retired couple of years ago got all the
"honey do things caught up" so now its time to get back to "digging up bones".
Here is what I think my CLICK line is:
1 Baltas
2 Michael Cleek
3 John Cleek
4 Mathias B. Click
5 William M. Click
6 Arthur Lamar Click
7 Myra Grace Click McAllister
8 William M. McAllister, Jr.
I am # I on this chart. Any help comments etc. would be appreciated. From (5)William M. Click
back its the pre-pondurance of evidence that I am using, if any of you have any documents to prove/disprove me, please do so.
Thank you
Bill McAllister
