Subject: Cleek/Click genealogy research
Hello all Cleek/Click researchers,
This is Laura Ware. I am a descendant of George W. Click and Mary
(Polly) Hughes Click. I have been reading Cleek/Click communications
on genforum. Maybe you could please help me find out what my George
W. Click's parentage is. Also, any other Click/Cleek information on this
line. I do have the following information:
1) Born about 1815 in Virginia
2) His parents were both born in Germany (1880 census)
3) Married Mary (Polly) A. Hughes probably about 1839.
4) Children:
John H. Click-b. abt 1840 in Tennessee
William P. Click-b abt 1841 in Tennessee
Catherine Margaret Click-b. Feb 20, 1842 in Murray County, Georgia
married Issac Marion Barnett Jun 24, 1861 in Dalton, Georgia and
d. Jan 27 1926 in Durant, Oklahoma
Mahala J. Click-b. abt 1845 in Georgia
George W. Click, Jr.-b. abt 1849 in Georgia
Mary E. Click-b. abt 1852 in Georgia
Emily Elizabeth Click (my great grandmother)-b.Mar 19 1854 in
Georgia
married Thomas Pleasant Morrison Oct 13, 1885 in Bradley County,
TN
d. June 14, 1898 in Bradley County, TN, bur. Sugar Creek Cem.
Bradley
County, TN
Michael Valentine Click-b. abt 1856 in Whitfield County, Georgia
married Mary Josephine Bennett Sept 9, 1877 in Red Clay,
Whitfield Co.,
Georgia, d. 1924 in Collin County, Texas, bur. IOOF Cem.
Farmersville,
Collin County, Texas
Louisa E. Click-abt 1858 in Georgia
Julia R. Click.-abt April 1860 in Georgia
5) 1850 census - Murray County, Georgia
6) 1860 census - Tenth District, Whitfield County, Georgia
7) 1870 census - Red Clay, Militia District 629, Whitfield County,
Georgia
8) 1880 census - Upper Tenth District, Whitfield County, Georgia
9) 1880 U. S. Federal Census Mortality Schedule
10) Died of a mule kick - June, 1880
11) 1850 census also shows a Valentine Click age 26 who also lives close
to
George W. Click on the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records. Think
he
might be a brother but Valentine's 1880 census record shows his
father
was born in TN and mother born in VA. So, maybe he is a cousin or
nephew to George W. Also interesting is the fact that George W.'
son,
Michael has the middle name of Valentine and his daughter has the
name
of Louisa which was Valentine Click's wife's name.
Some of George W.'s children's names used are as follows: John,
Margaret,
Michael and Emily. Maybe these names were from grandparents??
If any of you could point me in the right direction, I would greatly
appreciate
any help.
Sincerely,
Laura Ware
