I have added a new page on my website "MURR FAMILY LAND" WITH PHOTOS, a
tribute to Rachel Click and Jeremiah Murr. They're trek left Washington Co.
Tenn to Cocke Co. Tenn> Monroe Co. Tenn> during Civil War in 1863 to Union
Co. Illinois. Then westward ho to Texas Co. MO in 1869 and homesteaded &
died there. Be sure to visit the "Family Group Sheets" page too for lots of
Click lineages. Some of the Murr allied family surnames are: Denton,
Hinkle, Atherton, Hutsell, Frey, Kinser, Leighty, Gaddis, Kelley & Ragsdale.
Hope we can make some new acquaintances of cuz's we haven't found yet.

Hi. I am interested in getting info on Click families who lived in
Weakley Co., TN in 1860-1910. I collected a lot of census data on
Clicks, but can't positively link my g-grandfather John (1880 Census
-age 61 ) to other families. He was a widower, had a mother named
Henrietta R. age 80, and daughters Nannie 16, and Henrietta S 12. My
closest to match is to a family in Cocke Co. I know Nannie was in
Huntingdon for a visit in1905.
I suspect John is the " J. Click" age 29 listed in the 1850 census
in District 11 of Weakley Co., with a wife named Malinda 20. Would
appreciate any clues or directions to look. Thanks.

Can any of you identify this CLICK? The line I'm looking for had moved on to
Ark. by 1860. In fact, about that time they were getting ready tomove to
Texas. Grant
Helo,
If everything works right we will be passing through Texas about Oct. 8 -
11. I think we will be in the Bandera area about Oct. 8 - 9. Darla also has
relatives in SAN ANTONIO.
Unfortunately, we will be on a very tight schedule. We need to be in Alabama
on Oct. 15. I have cousins and assorted kinfolks from Houston to Mobile.
One of my sisters and one brother live in Louisiana but I'm not going to stop
there. I do have to make a couple stops to visit aging aunts but they will
be brief.
I'll send more information as the time draws near.

Hello Click Cousins
I was waiting for permission to use an e-mail address. I now have it.
On March 3 1891, the U.S.Congress passed an Act to compensate settlers
on the frontier who lost property to Indians. Indian Depredation acts
were for the years 1867-1874. Paul A Carter pacarter(a)rmi.net has
the Index for the State of Texas. Paul is very good about sharing the
index. He also checks for the variations in spelling.
I don't know about the other frontier States. There should be an index
for them also.
Be sure to go to Paul's web site at:
http://shell.rmi.net/~pacarter/depredations.html
Paul gives an address where you can snail mail the National Archives.
Paul also gives a rundown of the contortions you will have to go
through to receive your files and what might be in them.

I think I've come across some wonderful finds. Do we have any CLICK
cousins close enough to the National Archives in Washington D.C. that
would go and make copies for us? I will send money before or reimburse
after. Would probably be several hundred pages. The Archives would do
this but will take several weeks and they don't often take care with
the copying.
I have found M.C. and Rufus. Also A.J., George Washington, and Malichi
Click. These were claims filed because of Indian depredation. I've
been told that the claimants had to give all kinds of proof. If so we
may be in high cotton. Even if we just get a tenth of what the others
said they found.
I found this in: BOUNTY AND DONATION LAND GRANTS OF TEXAS 1835-1888.
By Thomas Lloyd Miller, published by Unitersity of Texas press 1967.
Is this one of Darla's grandfathers?
Erasmus Brewer received Bounty Warrant 601 for 320 acres from Adjutant
General on 26 January 1850 for service from 14 July to 14 Oct 1836. 320
acres in Taylor County were patented to Simon Draper, assignee, on 25
November 1854. Patent 920 Vol 6 abstract 29 General Land Office file
Bexar Bounty 1147. [which means Erasmus Brewer was given 320 acres by
the State of Texas. He sold to Simon Draper. Bexar land district.
Quite often the person never saw the land he was awarded for services
rendered by the Nation of Texas]
A Henry G. and John H. Brewer were also mentioned.
