I didn't expect to send another admin email so soon but I received this
email today from the administrators of RootsWeb, the host of our list.
RootsWeb not only hosts surname lists like ours but hosts many, many
genealogy websites. I thought that I'd send it along to let you know
what is involved in providing the forum for our list and to give you a
"heads up" in case you're accessing RootsWeb sites and are experiencing
problems. If you choose to support RootsWeb with contributions, please
contact Brian Leverich. His address is at the close of the message.
Thanks.

I've updated my website and it now has almost double the people, with a
concentration in Cleek/Click,Mahan,and some Brashers thrown in.
Hope you find a connection.

Happy New Year to all my CLICK cousins,
Please do not send chain letters or notices/warnings to the list. The
message regarding the per minute charge for phone lines has hit almost
every list that I subscribe to. If you go to the source of the
information,..the FCC, you will see that the FCC reviewed this proposal
last year. The request for comments had a due date of Feb 14, 1997--not
1998.
Check it out for yourself:
http://www.fcc.gov/Bureaus/Common_Carrier/Factsheets/ispfact.html
Of course, I'm sure we will hear more about this in the future and that
our individual ISPs will notify us if there is another push for per
minute charges for local access.
I hope that you had a safe and happy holiday season. Now, let's get
back to researching those Clicks. Please post your line to the list for
all to review. Also, let me know if you have a web page or know of a
web page with CLICK info on it.
Thanks

I hope you will join in the letter campaign, to try and stop this from
happening! Sherry
