I have been working on trying to find the parents of Sam Mack Johnson from Covington Co, MS. He listed Edgar as his next of kin for his draft registration. I found out that they are brother but still haven't been able to find the Father. This Edgar married on 25 Feb. 1916 a Fannie Powers in Covington Co., MS. I know their Grandparents are Nancy and Duncan Johnson. I found them in the 1870 & 1880 Covington Co.,MS Census. It had all of their sons listed and I found all of those sons individually in the 1900 Census along with their families. I also found Nancy Johnson with her daughter Lula Johnson and her 5 children: Edgar 14; Erma 7; Samson 4; Leon 2; and James 11/12. Next to Lula it has that she had 5 children with 5 still living. This leaves me with two chooses: 1- She married a Johnson and he died. 2- She married someone else and then took her maiden name back. By 1910 she is no longer listed with Nancy and some of the children Edgar 22; Emy 16; and Sam 12. If y!
ou have any more information on this family I would love to know. Hope this helps. I do have more.
