Dear Paula,
I'm afraid I don't have any Cliburn links in North America, my family being
in London England. Best wishes with your research.

To All:
I saw your post from Nov., 2001 and hope you can help.My dec'd husband is
descended from Claiborne's of Dyer, Tn.
I'm researching his g-grandfather, Charles L. Claiborne, b. 1846 N.
Carolina, according to censuses 1850-1930, which indicate he was born in N.
Carolina, and his father from Va.. I've been able to loosely tie him to a
Nathan Cliborne, (b. 1817), a wheelright in Raglands, Granville County, N.
Carolina. It appears 2 sons of Nathan may be the one's who migrated to Dyer
Tn, those being Robt F and Charles. Robert was CSA veteran. Another brother,
John apparently died during service "of disease, 1863".
My question: Do you have any info that would connect this Nathan(maybe
Nathaniel) to your George R, or his father Daniel Cliborn(e)?
If not, any suggestions on how to proceed? I've found a Leonard Cliborne,
Samuel Cliborne and John Cliborne.but have yet to connect dots, because
childrens names are not listed on Census records prior to 1850.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you,
Paula Claiborne
