I think the surname was Cliburn before it was Clyborn, Clyburn, or anything else. The crossroads in England is Cliburn, pronounced Clibburn (with a short i). Angela Claire Clyburn is source of much information, although much misinformation is present because it was given to her wrong. Hers was a great undertaking and to be commended.

Thanks for answering so promptly Johnathon.
To be honest I am not sure I am on the right path. My dad can only tell me the name of his father and grandfather. The other information I have found is from other tree members which isn't always accurate. I have noticed a change in spelling in the name from Clayborn to Clyburn to Cliburn in the my tree. Any information you have on the Clayburn/Clyburn/Cliburn surname in SC would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you again,
Ginger

Hello Johnathon,
My name is Ginger Dean Hellinger and I am a desendant of William Cliburn. My Grandfather was Rufus Wesley Dean (SC) and his parents were Frank Pickens Dean & Lillie Jane Moss.
Frank Pickens Dean's mother was Mary A. Clyburn (1841-1920)
Mary's father was William A. Clyburn (1802-1844)
William's father was William Cliburn (1774-1830)
and his father was William Cliburn (1750-1821)
I am interested in this line for my father can tell me nothing of his lineage. Any information you have would be greatly appreicated. I am giving you this informatio so that you can tell me if you have any of us in your records. I do not know anything about this line except the South carolina connection.
Thank you
Ginger
