Well, I put in Clazeys for Tennessee and got Maryland. weird. It
appears that all Clazeys lead to Maryland. Here is what I found:

I have heard from Janet Atkin whose great-great
grandfather was George Oswald Clazy, Mt. Carmel,
Putnam Co. NY. The 1850 Census listed him as George
Clasey. In the 1860 Census, he is George O. Clazy.
George married Margaret Hall. I found: Elizabeth L.,
Isabella O. and a third child which is illegible.
Janet comes through the Elizabeth L. line. Does anyone
know who third child was?

Juvanne,
I have: From 1881 Census: James O. Clazey, wife
Charlotte Grey. He is a schoolmaster at a private
school in Weston-By Welland, Northamptonshire. His
birth place is listed as Putnam, Mt. Carmel, New York.
Their Children: Geprge O., Ellen C., Oswald, Maggie
and in 1882 Isabelle Charlotte was baptised. Also in
the 1881 Census: James O. Clazey, 61 wife Ellen Craig
who married in 1870. There are no children. John O.
Clazey 54 is a broker married to Henrietta. Children:
Henrietta and John O. In 1934 Kelly's book, John O.
is a Lt. Col. living in Cornwall. A Frederick O.
Clazey was killed in action during WW II. I suspect
this last John O. was the 7 year old John O. in 1881
Census. These are all in Sunderland, Northumberland.
Susannah, 21, born Hull, Yorkshire is also a
schoolteacher in 1881.
1860 NY Census: George O. Clazy, wife Margaret.
Children: Elizabeth L., Isabelle O. There is a third
child in all cases the writing is illegible but
appears to be either Louisa O. or Louis. George died
in 1887, July 4th, Mt. Carmel, a widow and a
telegrapher. Prior to that he was a master tailor.
Oswald Clazey was my great-grandfather. He married
Mary Ann Donaldson probably in 1899 or 1900. Oswald
Jr. was born in 1900 and Archibald Donaldson Clazey
was born in 1902. They were at 17 Fulwell Road,
Sunderland, Northumberland. Mary Ann died in New York
City...unable to locate a death certificate. Archibald
married Laura Tough (family also of Sunderland) in
1926. Daughter, Jean Ann Clazey is my mother.
Mother of James O. and John O. in Etal, Ford Parish
register is Isabel and father is John. Still not sure
which John is ours...there are two candidates to date:
John, parents James Clezy and Helen Kerr (John born
in 1798, Chirnside) and a John Clazy, parents William
and Isabel born in 1797. Any help would be most
appreciated. George O. born in 1817 or thereabouts
would seem to indicate that John's father was named
George if naming pattern holds and there were no
deaths prior to George. Isabel last name was probably
Oswald and that O or Oswald holds through nearly three
generations! I did find an Isabel Oswald and father is
George Oswald, mother Barbara.
