I believe the List saw the fantabulous UK Cleverly Tree (to put it
mildly), going back to God, or just south of Him:

Please change my digest from "plain text" to "MIME" If you are familiar
with how to do this just ignore the PS. If not, you are not by yourself.
I have found several list administrators who did not know how to change
the digest and were happy to get instructions.
Thanks,
Susan
PS: Below is an explanation on how to do it from Craig Rich another list
owner.
On the mailing list administration General Options Section, click on
"Membership management". Search for the user's name, and un-check "plain".

Good to hear from you Peter,
I see you subscribed to Cleverly-L. Our Archives are that 'HTTP:' line

by our members.
Cleverly is a rare surname here.
Have you tested your UK A2A Archives - quite advanced:
http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/index.asp
then up to [Search A2A] - (ignore the negatives)
Here are some interesting Search A2A Cleverly results:

Hi Barry
Nice to hear from you.
I did not get any attachment/web address, please resend.
I know Cleverlys have been in New England from the time of the Pilgrim
Fathers, but I've never investigated the link. If you have any 'born in
England, died in America' individuals I would be interested in looking their
English relatives up.
Thanks for the kind remarks about the website - I'm putting up new stuff all
the time.
best wishes

Comments = Hello Peter Cleverly,
Your surname may also be one in our Line. Have you been active in 'our'
Cleverly-L RootsWeb List & Archives?:
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/c/cleverly.html
What may be my 'Line' is Treed below. We have more but I'm contacting
you to determine availability and interest. Since your Tree is developed
much further back than 'ours,' perhaps you are content as is. In your
development, I did not see a connection to our late 1700s mid-Atlantic coast
Cleverlys.
In connecting to 'our' Robt Widdrington's 1722 MD will (set out below),
we did not proceed much further back. But let our Tree & the will speak for
themselves. Hope you can assist us back a generation or so.
I am copying this to a few interested researchers, including for our
We/i therington's dna match activities. For their benefit, I'm attaching a
.txt version of portions of your Tree for their review. I am impressed much
with your activities, perhaps moreso w/your success. I especially like some
of your comments / observations.
Other than possibly the 2 'Anns:
i Ann Wayte CLEVERLY b1843 (joined the Mormons, emigrated to Utah)
ii Ann Eliza CLEVERLY b1845(joined the Mormons, emigrated to Utah)
it appears that your family descendancy blood has not been 'corrupted' by
this breakaway American community, although it would seem likely that 'our'
Cleverlys were of UK emmigrant extraction.
I've proceeded to this point assuming I would eventually locate your
email address, but haven't yet. I'll send this incomplete through your
'comment' page and await your reply, if you would. I see your well designed
website is current to a few months ago.
