I thought she might possibly be the Daughter of Stephen and Mary Crain, who were in Reading, Sycamore, Hamilton OH in 1850. Stephen is a brother to Sarah Crain Gambrel. I don't even know if they had a daughter named Mary. But since there is no Mary in their household in 1850, and this Mary did not marry until 1853, I doubt that she is their daughter.
But, thanks for responding.

Would you happen to know the name of Mary Crain's father?

I have a Mary Crain married to a Stephen Clevenger, but they were in Warren Co., OH. Otherwise, I don't see any connection. I'd look at the 1840 and 1850 census pages (not just the index) to see if they were neighbors.
Good luck!

I am taking a shot in the dark.
I have an Amos Clevenger Gambrel b. 1 Jul 1837 in Hamilton Co Ohio. His parents are Hugh Gambrel and Sarah Crain/Crane.
I am trying to determine if there is a Clevenger family connection to the Gambrels or Crains.
Any thoughts?

Karen
I married into the Clevenger family in 1980. My father in law is named Marion Arnold and my husband is Marion Stephen, Sr. Marion is a unique name so I'm thinking you could be from the same family line. They are from Alabama but M.A. was a Navy man for several years. Let me know what you think.
