Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Mary R. Clevenger
After several years of declining health, Mary R. Clevenger completed her
life's journey here on earth to began a new life in heaven on Dec. 13, 2008.
She had resided at Center of Hope Care Center in Union City for the past
seven years.
Mary was born Oct. 29, 1910, in Darke County, Ohio, to Harry and Ida
(Swathwood) Bushaw. She graduated from Jackson Ohio High School in 1929. She
married Jan. 1, 1935, to John W. Clevenger. John died Feb. 8, 1988.
Mary was a farm wife in Jackson Township, Ind. The heart of her home was the
kitchen. She loved to cook for field hands, family and friends. Mary clerked
at both Krishbaum and Boston Stores in Union City. In retirement, she and
her husband wintered in Lakeland, Fla., for 14 years.
Mary was a 62-year member of the Union City Eastern Star 444. She served as
a Gold Lady at the Richmond State Hospital. Mary was a 60-year member of the
Pleasant Hill Church where she once was actively involved.
She is survived by one son, Thomas J. (Barbara) Clevenger of Union City,
Ohio; two grandsons, Thomas Joe (Tina) and William L. (Jodi) Clevenger, both
of Union City, Ohio; two stepgrandchildren, T.J. Stocker and Kash Edger,
both of Union City, Ohio; one stepgreat-grandson, Syncere L. Stocker of
Union City, Ohio.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, John and
George Bushaw; and two sons, Jerry Lee and James R. Clevenger.
As Mary's final request, there is no public viewing. Graveside services,
officiated by her son, were held for the immediate family. Burial was in
Union City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be may to the Pleasant Hill Church c/o Judy
Scholl, 7527 N. 400 E., Union City, IN 47390.
Fraze-Brooks Memorial Chapel of Union City has been entrusted with the
arrangements.

Hi Sue, my name is Jill Risner and Watt was my great-grandfather. I am just trying to track family history as far as the ethnic background. Watt was married to Goldie Brainard, my grandmother Darlene Ellenberg was born from that marriage. She also had a brother Max who just passed away 2 years ago in New Orleans. I am from Ashland Ky where Darlene lived her entore life. I now live in Cleveland Oh. Any information you could give me would be great, thanks, Jill

Are you still looking for information on this family? If so, you will find a great piece written up in the book " The New Jersey Coast in three Centuries " by Peter Ross. You can google this book and read it on line. Margaret clevenger Hulse(daughter of John and Sarah) and her daughter Sarah Worth Gaskill are buried here in Wall Township, NJ.

I may be able to help a little, my family has decent records going back to 1830's as I recall. From what i have read there are an awful lot of clevengers and they are from all over. My family is from the south (I think) due to a lot of Cherokee Indian in the family but also possibly oklahoma.
